So, I was just spat at.

The only time I've seen "ginger-hate" is Cartman on South Park. I don't understand why people would get upset about it. It's just hair color that is maybe mixed with pale skin color.

I guess I was lucky, I'm pale as a sheet and my mother was a red-head, but I got my father's brunette hair.

EDIT: Oh and Turtle, whoever that guy was, he's a fucking asshole and someone or something will kick his ass. Karma, it's a saintly *****.

I don't know anyone who would go that far. I mean, we do the no soul jokes and mess around, but that dude sounded like he had a genuine hatred of gingers.

Wow what a fucking asshole that guy is. Completely uncalled for.

What's wrong with redheads anyway?

I rest my case

For having red hair.

I was just walking home, with my hood down minding my own business and this idiot pulled up next to me, called me a "Ginger C***" and spat at me before speeding off. Now, personally this is just an extreme of what I usually experience, name calling, rude jestures, bullying, whatever; I'm used to that by now. But this, this just got to me. This just for having red hair, it baffles me.

Have you guys ever seen anything like this in your home town?

Edit:
I'll be honest, the thing that pissed me off the most was that I couldn't stand up for myself, he drove off too quick.
A friend of mine got stoned publicly for having long hair.

I don't mean stoned as in high, but stoned as in the biblical sense.

The only ginger person I've known is horribly cross-eyed. Being ginger was the least of his problems. But I don't think he was really picked on anyway. He is a very nice guy, and always says hello to me, even though we haven't really spoken in 10 years.

A joke is one thing, but being spat at... Jeez, what's wrong with people?

Not specifically for hair colour, but my sister and I used to get abuse for "looking posh" when we were teenagers. Some dick once threw a half-eaten Big Mac at us from his car while yelling something about us being "snobs."

We never knew these people, and they didn't know us or our family or anything. We don't even look that posh (well, perhaps compared to these chavs but that's not exactly hard) and we never said or did anything to provoke them. Our "crime" was wearing a smart school uniform.

Some people just have nothing better to do, I guess.

And yeah, redheads are sexy. I've been one, albeit artificially, so I should know :p

Wow, that's... wow.

I mean, spitting? It's odd, spitting is pretty much the biggest insult you can commit in today's society, if you shove someone, swear at someone, imply you had sex with their mother etc. etc., that's all water under the bridge, but if you spit at someone, that's some serious shit, you're laying down the gauntlet. And for red hair! Christ! I mean, we've all seen people take the piss out of gingers, but I've never known outright hatred like that!

Worse hate I've ever got was today in fact, some kid called me a "transvestite he-she man thing".

GINGERS DON'T HAVE SOULS!

Wasn't that a South Park thing or something? Or was it a Youtube poop first?

Have a really long memory.

I've seemingly randomly punched someone in the street because they insulted me from a passing car some years earlier.

Nothing I do is random.

I've been beeped at, yelled at, propositioned, fucking everything (like a lot of my friends) and it's just because the other person has nothing to do with their time and wants a bit of attention.
If your profile is true you're from Italy? Not surprised to hear that, then. Anyone I've talked to that has gone to Italy, at least the girls, have said that the guys there are all like that.

You'd probably be shocked by how not like that things are where I am (western canada)

Hey, I just met you,
and this is crazy,
but we both have red hair and a Black Templar as profile pic,
are we clones, maybe?

On a more serious: No, I have never been harassed for having red hair. Unless the whole "gingers have no souls" counts. But that was purely tongue-in-cheek among my friends.

The truth of the matter is that who ever did that is really just a worthless human being, who feels a need to demean others to support their own weak self image...

Yes if the guy had stuck around, standing up for yourself would have been the thing to do, but the simple fact that he drove away as fast as he did means he is not strong enough in his convictions to stand his ground.

He is truly not worth spending one more second of time thinking about.

That's just unreal. I have to wonder where you live?

It's hard to believe people can be such stupid dickshits.

Redheads are cool. I used to have a huuuuuuge crush on this one I worked with. Dark red hair and freckles... ... :)

So cheer up! I'm sure you're a nice person and I know you don't deserve that crap.

As for me, I once had a pop or something get thrown out of a car at me when I walked home from school in high school, but they missed. Some idiot was half out of the car window and yelling like "whoooooo!" Basically they were retarded.
I live in Stoke-On-Trent, England.
Possibly the worst place to live within England, and nothing like a place where I would like to live.
Stoke...ouch. I once had a little shit spit something at me through a straw here in Reading, took all my self-control not to push him over. People are arseholes no matter where you go, apparently.

I used to occasionally get spat on and slapped over the back of the head in high school because I had long hair; some people just never really grow out of that mentality sadly.

If it's any consolation to you --this always cheers me up-- remember that the people who do shit like will most likely never amount to anything; they'll live and die in the same street and the world won't mourn their passing.

Their lives are quite literally pointless.

The anti-redhaired thing isn't something that south park invented, its a very real thing in England that came about due to the perception that Scots (our traditional enemies) all have red hair its's basically racism by proxy, i've never seen legit anti-redhead prejudice though its usually expressed in jokes and the like.

To the OP: I wouldn't worry too much about it, odds-on the guy was just angry at something else and lashed out at you, in any case he is a dick-head and his opinion on anything is worthless.

Only once have I ever been bullied by my ginger hair, and the retard who did it, is even more ginger than I am.. Atleast I can get a little skin color. Needless to say, I smashed his face so hard his nose is still a little crooked 15 years later. ;)

I get the ginger "bashing" everyday from my friends though.. But it's always easy to give them shit back.

Besides, they are just jealous.. I have found that many women find red haired men to be very sexy, so scoring is almost too easy if you just play it right.. :D

Before the internet and even today, there people who troll in real life. Advice on how to deal with them is the same: Don't feed the trolls. Don't waste your time with that waste of space.

It would be funny to dye his hair ginger as some form of poetic justice though.

yeah, i'm the U.S. and have red hair (my entire family does) and i've never been bothered about it. I didn't even know about the term ginger until recent years, thx to the internet. Move to the U.S. if it ever gets real bad.

Yeah, i know its real, i've had multiple people tell me about it, saw a documentary on it (it was on youtube even, broken up in parts, can't remember its name but i think it had ginger in the title). Like most people in my parts it just seemed so weird and alien to me, it had never occured to me that it was something anyone would even care about except in the sense that some people are really attracted to redheads (in the physical attraction sense).
