I was just walking home, with my hood down minding my own business and this idiot pulled up next to me, called me a "Ginger C***" and spat at me before speeding off. Now, personally this is just an extreme of what I usually experience, name calling, rude jestures, bullying, whatever; I'm used to that by now. But this, this just got to me. This just for having red hair, it baffles me.

Have you guys ever seen anything like this in your home town?

I'll be honest, the thing that pissed me off the most was that I couldn't stand up for myself, he drove off too quick.

On a more serious: No, I have never been harassed for having red hair. Unless the whole "gingers have no souls" counts. But that was purely tongue-in-cheek among my friends.

This boggles my mind. I find red hair freakin' sexy...Blue hair too, but at least that's a choice. I mean...why? What reason could there possibly be?

Yeah this confuses me too. I didnt know this was a thing. I dont find red hair sexy, i just see it as being there. No feelings one way or the other.

I'm friends with a number of you freckly people, two of my closest friends are gingers and despite the fact that I make fun of them for it (in a joking way, of course) I've never understood all the hate for you lot.

In that kind of situation I've usually found it best to yell back or, if they're on foot, say something so extreme they think you're batshit insane and leave you alone. Example, I'll skull-fuck you or something along those lines. It may be a bit extreme but obviously you're not going to and they'll think twice about trying anything.
