But anyway, allthough that arcade version of the 360 looks nice and cheap, DON'T buy it, it will be impossible to ever get online, becouse the patches you will be asked to install, take up more space than there is on that tiny memorycard they give you.
Eh, I had an Arcade and I never had any trouble with that nor memory card space. xD

The money you spend on a 360 really insn't worth it. I suggest you buy a PS3. It has a longer life span and, from what I've heard from friends, the exact same graphics.

The only thing I hate about the 360 is the fucking hardware failures. The Xbox 360 is a next gen console, but my fucking 6 year old PS2 has outlasted it by 5 years.

What the fuck?
I already have a PS3 and that's why im getting the 360.

Wait, like those surveys they advertise on the side of facebook? "We're looking for someone to try out the new MacBook Pro, and keep it. Just tell us what you think."? Those things?

What was that one XKCD comic where they had that?

Dude, hit me up with a link... >.>

As for the OT: The only game I can really tell you that you HAVE to get is saint's row 2. I clocked 61 hours in my main save file, and would still be playing it on occasion... But I was too good for the game. I broke the game. (Seriously. It broke. I'm guessing the frequency of me playing it contributed to that.)

Prototype was a decent timesink, but the emphasis is on "timesink". I played on "normal" difficulty, and one of the bosses (which, coincidentally, looked like a giant vagina on top of a worm) took me three hours (I only died once during the fight, too.) to beat. Not a good game if you have, you know... A life outside of the game.

Oblivion sold me on it. I didn't have a gaming PC, and I didn't have another choice for a way to play it. And now I'm named after it. Really, you can't go wrong with the PS3 or the 360. The very best games are on both. But the 360 seems to get the DLC.

The 360 does have problems sometimes but since you(OP) said money isnt really a problem just buy a warranty. When mine started having problems I just took it to Bestbuy and they replaced it right away. It costs more when I bought it then it does now so there was even money left over to buy a new 2 year warranty. It took about 15 minutes to get in and out, didnt cost any more money, and now if it breaks within 2 more years itll be free to fix again.

I was rung and asked if i wanted to take part so it's pretty closed.

That's probably true. However through a dark secret FUSION technique you can combine the inexpensive Arcade box with the mighty 120GB hard drive (bought at heavy discount from a used game store) and thus rule the realm with your combined, almost monstrous, lurching creation.

Sadly the FUSION technique has been lost in the vast desert of time but every so often, a brave or perhaps foolhardy soul reawakens this dark knowledge, to see their will wrought upon the landscape. And again the people will flock to their new fell master, lest they be scattered like dandelion seeds to the winds.

Hark ye, young apprentice! So it has been written, since, oh about 2005 or so.
well i put a 60GB one in :p
even got a free headset with it, and 3 months of xbox live, not expensive at all =D

I read the first post. I was only talking about the 360 and that its not usually a big deal if it has problems.

I'd probably advise against it. Get a nice PC instead, unless you already have one.
Not very happy with my 360, anyway.

I got my 360 fairly recently (about a year ago) and have been very happy with it. No problems whatsoever. As long as you take care of it and use your head, it should last. Good titles to consider:

Mass Effect: I can't stop raving about this game. It's the best game I've played in years, in the same tone and vein of the great Baldur's Gate series, though with an SF space opera and a host of pop references. If there's one game to get on the 360, this is it.

Splinter Cell: Double Agent: Alright, this is an older game but one that's provided me with lots of fun recently. I feel late to the party, but I'm having fun basically playing as a kick ass Jack Bristow/Jack Bauer hybrid. If you like stealth and spy games, you should have fun with Splinter Cell. And it'll get you in the right frame of mind for when Conviction comes out.

Other ones I like (Assassin's Creed, The Orange Box, etc.) have been mentioned. But the two above are my favorites on the 360, so I'd start with those.

Bio shock- One of best games out for Xbox 360.
Call of duty- WaW even it is just for playing the zombie maps.
Fallout 3- good game with lots of play time.

Crackdown is a great game, oft overlooked, cheap too($15)
Bioshock is a must have.
I've just recently got into a new game called Sacred2 and I've been enjoying it so far, it's sort of similar to Diablo but not really.
DON'T pick up Fable2 unless you want to be disappointed.

PS3 and 360 combo, can't go wrong there.
Is the Orange Box even playable on the PS3? I heard terrible stories about it.
I bought it on the 360 myself just to be on the safe side.

It is playable on the PS.You just don´t have any achievement weapons in TF2.
