"Definition of ANGST

: a feeling of anxiety, apprehension, or insecurity"

Look up words before you use them.
Thank you proving my point and not letting it go :)

Don't do what my friend did. That is, drink three quarters of a bottle of rum, puke, then fall asleep.

I'm 18 in...10 months. I can't wait. >_>
Furburt?

I'm probably going to drink until I pass out, drink some more when I wake up and then go home.

Go out, get drunk, go to a bar, go to a club, dance with people, dance by yourself (if previous doesn't go to plan.)

Saying it's just another day, another year, everythings the same, blah blah blah, yes but this a day you can drink on!

Oh and get an ear pierced, you'll be cool.

I was thinking about trying paintball for my 18th, it could be a lot of fun.
I did that for my celebration of my 18th with my mates, although it was several days after my actual birthday which was with family, I can tell you it is really fun and it doesn't actually hurt that much...

Cool, mine's near the beginning of October, and since it's the friday of Canada's thanksgiving weekend I'm taking it off, for a four day weekend. And, since Ontario's legal drinking age is 19, I guess I'll have to make a trip down to Quebec at some point. In the now, however, I'm getting together with some friends, there are, after all, worse excuses to do so.

19 is the legal drinking age where I live, so for my 19th birthday I;
-called up a lesbian friend
-went out to a gay bar
-picked up ladies for the night
-drank
-went to a strip club and had a chick rubs her boobs on my face
-went to Tim Hortons at 4:30 in the morning, where a mob of people picked me up and carried me around singing happy birthday and throwing donuts at me
-went home and passed out

It was a lovely evening. And my boyfriend was cool with it.

Hmmmm...
Getting wasted isn't much fun (done it anyways)...
One guy I knew had a great 18th birthday celebration. His friends blindfolded him, took him to this castle nearby, and had a huge dinner with cigars and whiskey.
How about flying to Amsterdam and having some fun? :p

Coworkers took me to a strip-club. Was actually expecting something trashier until we got there, was actually a class act.

Still, glad I experienced it, especially on someone else's dime- especially since I dont know when I would ever go to a strip club at any other part in my life.
That and I gambled a little bit the following week when another friend turned 18. That was just boring. Made $50 so it wasn't that bad.

When I turned 16, in America people to be some grand thing. I went to get myself subway meal with extra cheese, with one friend who gave me 60day gamecard to WoW as a present, then we called 2 other friends to coem and went to see a bad movie. Total cost of the night 22 Euros (I had cupon for the subway)
I turned 17, we went to eat out with my family.
I am turning 18 soon also, I plan to do nothing.

Birthday I just one another day in the year, along with Xmas... What the big deal? Like numeric age means something in the long run. You ain't gonna be so different. (expect in the eyes of law).

Whopidoo. And Happy birthday wishes early.

I didn't do a thing.

It's just another day.

Nothing special.

Just a number.

Just an arbitrary number of days.

Celebrating surviving another years seems awfully strange to me; as if no one expected you to, so they throw a party.

I agree with you, it is stupid. Most of the law is stupid. However, when you're 18 it's legal to buy smokes and drink among other things, so it is actually quite an important day. Also it's human nature to find things to celebrate, birthdays, new jobs, promotions, whatever you want. To be honest, most of life is just the waiting for the next celebration. It's worked perfectly fine for me so I see no need to change it.

EDIT: Go and get drunk like the rest of us!

It was no different than any other birthday. I had a party, I ate Pizza, I hung out with friends, I got presents, we sang the song.

It is just a number. Only you can make it important.

Turning 18 sucks in Canada because you still can't legally drink.
I was considered an adult in Saskatchewan when I turned 18. Then I moved to BC and I'm now considered a child again. Aggravating... Also I want to drink too but it hasn't been a huge concern of mine. Just because I'm curious. Voting is cool though.
