I saw the trailer for this when I went to see Scott Pilgrim, and I was actually pretty interested in it... until I saw that it was directed by Shyamalan.

Hi. I'm someone who pays attention to things. Apparently I'm the only one of my kind anywhere near this thread.

M. Night Shyamalan is not directing this movie. Nor is he producing this movie. Nor did he write the screenplay. In fact, the only real way he's connected to this movie is because the story was his idea.

Shyamalan has about as much to do with this movie as Tom Clancy has to do with any videogame that's ever bore his name.

Way to do your research, pricks. And don't even pretend like this trailer didn't have you absolutely hooked right up until Shyamalan's name popped up.

Y'know what? Fuck it. I'm seeing it. And y'know what? I'm gonna talk about it. In this forum. Constantly. Whether I like the movie or not. The judgmental attitude in this thread has made me that angry.

I too will watch it and if it's bad, its bad. If it's good, then its good. And like you said, He's not directing it. But everyone assumes he is. Sad

For a Producer who thinks it's smart to associate anything done with Shamalayns in preview to drive UP hype for the movie may just be pointing out the other grievous errors were made in this movie.

Such as hiring 'Schnooze beries taste like shnozze berries'; which don't get me wrong, if he's Satan and says that; instant movie win. Otherwise failbot is fail.

They may as just say, "From the mind of the man who wound shagged The Last Avatar"; something he thought up. Fantastic pitch.

Probably not.

Regardless of Shamalamababalu's involvement, it just looks stupid to me.

looks pretty damn good, the classic threat of an unstable group of people trapped in a confined space where the outside trys to save them from getting harmed, except they threw some scary shit in there to jazz it up. yeah, i'm sure that towel face dude would give me a bad dream or 2 =_= they acting sounded a bit off towards the end though.

Hell no, after his ripping apart of the The Last Airbender I will have nothing to do with that man and his crappy movies. I'm pretty sure that movie is the final nail in his coffin movie wise.
Here here. He even got the name of the characters wrong!

(facepalm)

I'll see it.

Worse case scenario is, it does end up being dog shit and i get to laugh at his failure.

I'll wait for reviews first this time. He's been kind of hit or miss since he started making movies in my humble opinion. I thought some of his films were decent, such as Lady in the Water (I thought it was interesting), Sixth Sense, and Unbreakable, yet others just didn't play out that well, like Signs, or The Happening.

Maybe with some friends. Depends who's there. I'm hoping it would range more toward So Bad It's Good. I find M Night's film career a little depressing, the last good movie he made was Unbreakable. That was in 2000. (eh.. MAYBE the village, depends on opinion).

Granted, I laughed when the trailer came on during Scott Pilgrim. Everyone did.

Well I pointed out in the OP that I knew he wasn't directing nor did he write the script. But its still his story and that alone is something to make a movie-goer think twice before shelling out the cash to see the movie. The guy who is directing it was the director of Quarantine and I thought that was an alright movie but it didn't involve Shyamalan. I feel just his involvement will bring this movie down. Like its been said his name is basically a punchline now because of the horrible shit hes been putting out after The Sixth Sense (haven't seen Unbreakable heard it was good though). Aside from those two none of his movies are really noteworthy besides the hilarity they provide. Also they way he talks down to audiences like we don't "get" his movies is just him bitter that he lost his touch and everyone caught one to his act. Maybe if he stopped plastering "M. Night Shyamalan's..." in front of every movie title people would go a little easier on him because that just shows he has quite the ego. If he actually had the films to back it up it'd be a different story but he doesn't so its not.

Looks like a really really bad film I wouldn't even consider renting, I don't care who made it, whose in it and why it exists but when it looks as stupid as the trailer suggests then I have little reason to go see it

Ah, finally. Someone who actually does research.

Yeah, I'm going to see it. I was going to see it anyway even before I saw M Night's name on it and heard everyone in the theatre laugh.

It looks good to me. I don't care if it does somewhat rip off a Twilight Zone episode.

Looks entertaining, interesting plot, that girl is hot in it and I want to be someone with a bit of a positive attitute towards ol' M Night by saying that the guy has good ideas. Neigh, Great ideas.

All of his movies have interesting settings and plots. It's just that M Night is rather retarded and doesn't know how to follow up on his plots and they end up falling apart towards the end. So I think this will prove to be awesome.

It's M Night's good idea with someone else writing and directing.

Did anyone catch the twist in The last airbender? The twist was that it sucked

This movie actually looks promising though, something I wouldn't have said for the happening, lady in the water, or the village.

I make my decisions after the reviews come out...
EXCEPT for Inception... For some reason my gut feeling told me there was gonna be something special about that one...

I am. I still believe he can make good movies, even if he's trying to do Avatar (err, the Last Airbender). Hopefully it redeems his name.

No way. I avoid his movies like the plague. His films do not entertain me in the least i'm afraid to say and i'm surprised he has such a vast following as he does tbh.

No, but because Im scared of elevators enough as it is. First RE movie freaked me out bad (that one scene more than the zombies) and I cant even watch the first Speed without getting bothered at that part.
I did not even realize M Night made this movie.
