You have two functional legs don't you? You could have walked, 2-3 miles is NOT very far to walk.

I did. Point in Point,All the backups backfired. I didn't watch my gas gauge, and it got stuck at the house with a Empty tank. Sadly Automatic, so no clutch popping. Friends were busy, and walking was a bit out of the way.
So you were irresponsible and didn't watch your gas gauge as well as not being willing to walk 3 miles. Not to mention you admitted to being late at least once a week, sometimes due to sleeping in. Sounds to me like you deserved to be fired.
I walked the 3 miles,or else I would have NEVER shown up at the center. As for the gas, well, that is my own fault,I admit, and I was late 1/10 times due to oversleeping. Mostly it never mattered as I worked when I was called in,not on a strict schedule, and often the boss didn't mind. It was the fact I was late to the final production meeting which got me fired. Otherwise I could've just gotten a memo.
Buy an alarm clock and be always on time for your next job. You should have had prepared yourself quite in advance, if you had those 3 miles to make to get to the meeting. If it is something that important, next time call a taxi.

And my guess is maybe, just maybe, your boss actually minded all those times you arrived late because you overslept. So he just had enough of it and decided to make you redundant. A lesson I am sure you wont forget easily. Sorry but it was your fault.

EDIT: Oh and I missed the part of all my backplans backfired. I am sorry but by your description those weren't backplans, you ran out of gas on your car?! How was that a backplan, that was just an epic fail. It makes you look even more irresponsible. You are late often to work, you depend on your mother to go to work when you have your car?! And you have your wage to upkeep that car. You work for some time now I guess and couldnt figured out a way to always be on time?! Well I better move to another thread cause the more I dig in here the more guilty you look. I think you really need to reconsider all your strategies and stop behaving as a teenager if you really want to keep a job.

Isn't it very much your fault for not having a back-up plan?

If it's a meeting so important that you'd be fired if only 15 minutes late, then you should've had several different plans on getting there.

Murphy's Law: Things can only go wrong if you let them. This is your fault kid. You can try to shift the blame to your mother as much as you want but it isn't her responsibility to get you to your job on time. If you knew your gas tank was empty (irresponsible for you not to know, btw) you should have been trying to look for an alternative at least an hour ahead of time so you can give yourself time to walk. I actually stand by your mothers actions. Actually if I were her I would have driven you and charged you a fee(at a discount since you are family).

"Sorry I'm late guys my mom had to talk to the neighbors again about the stamps and then uhh......" I think that excuse becomes invalid after about junior high.

At this point Its not irresponsibility, its overly carefreeness. The issues I faced were coincidental or accidental, and Being overprepared does NOT stop accidents
Really? Carefreeness? One, that's not even a freaking word. Two, for christ's sake just accept the fact you were irresponsible. You had a habitual record of being late, AND you were late to what you have already described as a very important meeting. I would sit here and point out all the things you could have done instead of giving up once your mother wouldn't drive you, but other have already stated that enough.

I was feeling a bit sorry for you, but after that line of "overly carefreeness" I have no pity. Hell, were I your boss I wouldn't rehire you even if you got your mother to talk. I would hope this incident taught you a valuable life lesson, but judging by your need to gain justification from others that it wasn't your fault I don't think you've learned a damn thing.

One last thing, the point where being carefree becomes irresponsibility is the point where it gets your ass fired. I.E. "overly carefreeness" = irresponsible.

Accept your losses, hit your mother, and make a game better than them so that they beg for you to come back.
Yeah! Just make your own game with blackjack... and hookers!
In fact, forget the game.

Mooch off her. When she tells you to get a job, that's when she admits her mistake and once you get your job back work like hell to get a car.

A plan like this can go wrong in so many ways so:

Get you co-workers to keep a position available
Find ways to not get used to no having a job and do it behind your mom's back.
Get creative.

OP: If you're old enough to have a job, you should be old enough to understand that it's your responsibility to get to said job. If you can't afford a car, learn to take the bus. Get a bike. Don't blame your mother for not getting to work on time. It's childish.

While it is mostly your fault, your mother still acted like a biatch.

No offence.

Your job is not your mom's responsibility.

You could have called a coworker.
Called a cab.
Called a friend.
Walked.
Etc.

The only person at fault here is you. Grow the fuck up.

Alright then,I'm off the phone, and have conveyed my ideas, and why it was my fault (I owe you guys a quite few of those.) and he has decided to add me back and to rewrite my contract, and said the meeting was important, but not 15 minute late severance important. I will need to move to a lower rent apartment soon, and probably start keeping a Gascan with gas in my apartment. As for the car its fine, but i've been informed to keep my credit i'll need a minor paycut. Against my better judgment I tried to post a contract, which is not against the limits in the contract, but someone who has posted in this thread advised me against it. Nw that this is resolved,I was informed The director was new and may have screwed up himself, but I did get off with the skin of my teeth intact.

Either way,I got lucky and need to be more responsible in the future.

Get a better job.

What do you want? sympathy?! If you posted a threat on here saying you were brutally sodomized by your boss for sneezing at work then most posts would still be saying "Well, you did sneeze, and he is your boss, so I don't think you have any reason to complain."
