Well, sounds like just plain back luck.

Move on and bring up her wasting one of your money making options to talk about stamps any time she gives you shit.

Isn't it very much your fault for not having a back-up plan?

If it's a meeting so important that you'd be fired if only 15 minutes late, then you should've had several different plans on getting there.
This pretty much hits the nail on the head.

I once lost a job interview, because the train I had to take (the interview was in another city) was late by 2 hours. I managed to be only 30 minutes late due to creative use of buses, taxi and running.

Didn't matter. I was late. My fault.

And you know what? It was my fault. I should have taken the previous train and been there several hours ahead of schedule. Because it was a freaking job interview.

So, you were late because your mother wouldn't drive you and got fired because of it.

I could say plenty of things here, but I'll hold myself down and say this: It was your fault, learn from it. If you told your boss why you were late, and he still fired you, then though luck. No excuses. Life happens.

While you should have had a better plan for getting in I have to say...and sorry if this sounds offensive to your mum, but what kind of mother lets her son get kicked out of a job because she's too proud to go in and say 'sorry, it was my fault he was late'? Were you really rude to her about it? Does she secretly want you to get a different job? Do you rely on her for everything and she's getting pissed off with the situation?

You should have killed your mother, gone to hospital with her.

A) You get revenge on her
B) You have a brilliant excuse for not turning up.

Just make sure it looks like an accident, and you're all set.

divorce your mother
Best advice EVAR, If we were married.
You don't need to be married to divorce your mother, it's basically the same as you legally disowning her.

Having said that, it's not something you should even consider because reading the rest of your posts it seems like you (may) have learned something from all of this.

But I must admit I did laugh when your answer to not calling a cab was that you didn't have a yellow pages, that deserves an award for it's outright moronic thinking.

Final point, in you value the job, work hard to keep it, stop sleeping in and never blame others for your mistakes or lack of foresight, most employers actually prefer it if you can say "Yeah, ok I fucked up" (or words to that effect anyway)

i remember when i didn't have transportation, i got up way early to get a bus so i would be 20-30 mins early everywhere i had to be, on important days i got up to catch 2 busses earlier if i missed one

"carefreeness" ffs ...
Don't correct my grammar and spelling, your I's are uncapatilised(Or however its spelled.)along with most of your sentence starting words, you mispelled buses, and I never SAID I woke up late, just that I was out of ways of transport.
i didnt correct your spelling or grammar at all, i meant you use carefreeness, where it is obviously just lack of planning and immaturity

sry man, but I think it's time you get your own car. Nice that you have friends who drive you where you need to go, but there will be times where no one will be able to give you a ride.

She never enjoyed the fact I worked with technology, she always wanted me to be a Surgeon like my brother. As for dependancy? Not even close,I'm 17 in my own apartment.

Actually, I've just re read your orignal post and I think I might have misunderstood the situation. I originally thought she had already offered you a lift and then just didn't because she decided to do something else or did something else first. On re reading it seems like there was no prior arrangement, she could have done when asked but chose not to. Is that correct?

-EDIT-
Title fixed so I wouldn't seem like a whiny brat,at least as much as before.
If you are going to fix anything, you should fix the entire post and add that you were also frequently late, and that the reason you didn't have transportation was because you forgot to put gas in your car.

I know it probably seems like I have been giving you a hard time in this thread but there is a reason for that and this "fix" highlights that reason.

You see, you essentially lied in your original post in an effort to make yourself look like the victim when you absolutely aren't. That just plain pisses me off and now that you "fixed" it, but still didn't add any of the important details you look like an even bigger brat.

Fair enough. At this point its been resolved though, so I feel there is no real need.
