To give you an example of what I'm talking about, I'm currently sitting opposite black suit spiderman, hanging from the ceiling. I've written down the recurring ones, Black suit spidey, batman and robin, green lantern and commander shepard. Each of them are stuck on a loop of some description. Spidey hangs on a web, gently swaying, batman and robin have some unclear dialogue they repeat, green lantern appears, makes a cup of coffe, and leaves, and commander shepard stands in the middle of the room dancing.
Two quick question;
1. What version of batman and robin? (1960's, 90's, modern)
2. Is it broshep or femshep?

I regularly get lucid nightmares, night terrors and sleep paralysis. Oddly enough when I take my (occasional) insomnia meds they tend to stop for a bit.

Never any nice visions, always fucking Goblin sharks or bodies or shit like that.

The common sense response to any odd effects of medication you have been given by a physician: Inform the physician of the effects AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. It could be an entirely benign side effect, it could be indicative of a bad reaction to the medication that is having other, less noticeable, effects.

OT: I have experienced this weird thing where if I'm thinking about something for a while sometimes I'll suddenly hear what sounds like a whole bunch of people talking at once. It lasts at most a second and usually culminates in one or two loud, but indistinct, words. Not sure if it counts as a hallucination though because I know it's in my head rather than it being mistakable for outside sounds.

Well, I did have 3 after a long night with some friends. I'll list them in order of strangeness rather than chronologically.
#1: I was going home, and I saw this cat walking down the middle of the road. Well, it wasn't exactly a cat. It looked like a cat, but something was wrong with it. I can't describe it properly. Anyways, he dissapeared shortly afterwards.
#2: I was in the restroom, and for a brief moment I saw a giant fly, sitting idly on a cabinet.
#3: By far the strangest. Later, while still on the road, I saw a tiny green man on the side of the road. Not little green man as in an alien, or as in a leprechaun, but he was just a guy. A guy, about 15 inches tall, clad entirely in green, and he was repeating this motion that I could only describe as what a Praying Mantis would look like if it were trying to dance while drunk.

60's tv show batman and robin (And funnily enough the episode with the scene they're rehearsing came on today)
It's manshep, I haven't seen the femshep dance, cuz I don't play as her for long enough to see anything.

I hadn't slept properly in a long time, I imagined that a UFO had landed outside of my house.

And ask if the Peter Parker is Toby or Andrew!

Y'know, you might be onto an idea for a successful webcomic there...

I've never had hallucinations as such, in that I at no point believed them to be real, and in fact summoned them myself. When I write something, I start to imagine the people and places, and sometimes I see them. Sometimes, I talk to them a little, to get an idea of them, question what they would do in the situation. But like I said, I know that not to be real, as hell, I'm making it up.
Critical Miss on escapist here already basically is doing that.

I have some FANTASTIC weed stories from my friends.

OT: Anyhow, you may want to, at the very least, make sure your doctor or whoever prescribed these pills to you know about these side effects you're having. It might be better if they could get you on something else that doesn't affect you like this. You don't want to be in a job interview or something and suddenly have Christian Bale style Batman burst into the room screaming incoherently at you.
Sure...From your friends...
And he said they wouldn't last forever, and they have in fact pretty much stopped.

Yes! Whenever I'm pretty stressed, I get sleep hallucinations like that. I'll be awake and aware of my surroundings, but see crazy weird things like spider people and vampires in the room. Sometimes the room I'm in will actually look like a different room altogether, like my room back home. It's weird because I'm processing in my head that I know that's not real, but I CAN'T MAKE MY EYES STOP SEEING IT. The good thing is, they tend to go away on their own, and might stop bugging you after some time.

I used to get them every day for a few months last year in particular. One of the weirdest was looking over and seeing TV's Frank sitting on my bed.

At least I think it was a hallucination.

Sorry but when you said that you see Shepard dancing I burst out laughing because it reminded me of this
That shit is hilarious. I can't breathe from laughing. I can't believe I missed it on my playthrough in ME2. I always knew Shepard was a bad dancer but I never saw that specific scene.

OT: Yep, Commander Shepard does it for me. And the fact that you miss him makes it even more hilarious.

I once talked to a hermit crab that had the voice of chef from south park. I think we talked about how we like are steaks cooked. He preferred well done while I like my steak medium rare.

The worst I've had is seeing lights, skittering shadows and such.
I do have auditory hallucinations, mostly people calling my name (usually shouted, sometimes whispered), alarms going off, and phones ringing.

My antidepressants cause vivid and disturbing nightmares, indiscernible from reality.
Hold on: was that a Twilight Zone reference?
Not intentionally, lol. Was it?
I can't remember the exact episode name/number, but it's about a man who's afraid to fall asleep because he has vivid and disturbing nightmares which he can't tell apart from reality. A heavy theme is the idea that he might just still be asleep. I think a psychiatrist believed the behavior was a side-effect of medication, like antidepressants.

Well, most (if not all) antidepressants in even moderate doses list vivid nightmares as a potential side effect. I gotta tell ya, while not afraid of falling asleep, I'm not really keen on it, lol. Horrible, horrible stuff. I feel everything like I would right now, sitting here wide awake. Better than the depression, though >_>
