My little sister bought Sims 3 yesterday and I thought I would play on it for a bit.

I'd been playing on one family for a while which had a pregnant female, I then decided to go play on another house in the neighbourhood for a bit, because I like playing all of my sims rather than just one family. So I play on another family for a couple of in-game days then go back to my original family and I find out that my female has had her child and they've given it a stupid name, Is this Maxis punishing me for not playing on one family and concentrating on it, one of the things I loved in Sims 2 and 1 was the ability to play all of my familys. It turns out I can't really do this in Sims 3. Something tells me I will not be playing this game as much as I did Sims 1 and 2.

Sorry about the rant there but seeing as I don't believe maxis ever mentioned this shared time thing they really should have as it prevents the managing of more than one household, which is what most sims players enjoy.

So what's your opinion, have you got Sims 3 and feel the way I do, or do you not mind, or do you never plan on getting Sims 3?

I played Sims 2 on the xbox (the original one) and thought it was alright, but it didn't really wow me. I haven't played this one and don't know as though I intend to. Long story short I am not really interested.

Well you can turn that feature (story progression they call it) off in the options menu so the families you're not playing won't age or have kids by themselves. So far I like the Sims 3 but I thought the Sims 2 was better. There are several key things missing.

What I miss are the memories. Now if a sim's mother dies, he will feel terrible for two days and then forget that he even had a mother.
What's gone too is the interaction with the player. When you ordered a very lazy sloppy sim in the Sims 2 to clean the toilet, he would turn to you giving you the 'why me?' look.

What I find outrageous is the Sims 3 store. Have you seen the items they are selling? The hairstyles they've got are the only decent and realistic ones and they could (and should) have easily been included in the game.

It's very hard to compare the sim gaves for PC to the spin-offs they have on the consoles. They are like two entirely different things.

I like the number of skills available in Sims 3 though. But I can't seem to find an electric guitar.

And yeah, the console games have got NOTHING on the PC versions. Totally incomparable.

Can you tell them to kill each other yet? If not, I'm still not interested.

I enjoyed the first Sims for a while before getting totally bored and setting them on fire. Never played the second or third. I don't think it appeals to me much as a series.

That said, nothing is as horrible as the Urbz. Ugh. Horrible.

Can you still set fire to them?
Ofcourse.

Whens the nude mod out?
It's already out.

Sims 3 does a few major improvements but at the same time (as mentioned) they are just milking it with the stuff packs.
