so, just got an x box...

i recently bought myself an x box, and 3-4 games. i have had a lot of fun with arkham asylum, gears of war 2 and modern warfare. i also bought Dante's inferno, but found it quite boring.

so what I'm asking you is: what did you think of these games, and are there any other games you think i absolutely have to get?

Dante's Inferno is a exact copy of God Of War, even the levels are the same! Arkham Asylum is a very good game but you should get Fallout 3, Mass Effect and the Orange Box. The Orange Box has Half life 2, ep 1 and 2, TF2 and Portal. All very good games.

The Orange Box and Left 4 Dead (both 1 and 2) These are some of my favourite games ever. And I'm much like you, I loved MW and Arkham Asylum but found Dante's inferno a bit crap. However, I didn't like Gears of War too much

Arkham Asylum - fantastic, perfect superhero game if a little too simple on the brawler side of things.
Gears Of War 2 - tons of fun, surprisingly well-written, gameplay functional to the point of absurdity but nothing really mind-blowing.
Modern Warfare (1?) - amazing, mind-blowingly great FPS. I personally think its MP is hands down better than the one for the second one, although the lack of coop and less interesting campaign makes it inferior in my eyes. Still, my ex-favorite game of all-time.
Dante's Inferno - haven't played that one.

What you should get, judging by your selection of games:
Halo: Reach - the previews and the first reviews made it out to be the most versatile and content-heavy FPS in ages. And it looks fucking sweet.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops - same reasoning here, basically
Assassins Creed 2 - the very best in the action/adventure genre, apart from Uncharted, but you cant play that
NHL 11 - I don't know whether you like sports games, so just throwing it out there - this is the best one
Forza Motorsport 3 - same goes for this racing title

I don't like Modern Warfare, I played for a bit and I just don't like the gameplay.

I'd reccomend Bioshock 2 and L4D 2, both for their online play.

A million times what's in bold. It's a shame that noone else plays them anymore.

OP: Orange Box, great value for money and it has some of the greatest (And indeed the greatest) game/s I've ever played on it.

As for what I think of the rest of the games:
Dunno, Okay, Rather fun, Boring.

A pity, since Orange Box really needs online play to improve it. Still, for about ten bucks you can get mass effect and if you like it you can get ME2 for around 20 bucks preowned. Orange Box is a great deal too.
From your list of games, I'd definitely say Fallout 3 or ACII, but those both have sequels coming out very soon, so perhaps wait for those instead. Bioshock 2 is a good choice too.

Get Red Dead redemption if you like sandbox games, it's really fun to play.

Just Cause 2 as well if you like blowing EVERYTHING up.

Dead Space is a good survival horror game.

And borderlands is quite fun to play.

Fable II if such games suit your desire. There is alway Halo Reach in a few days.

Fable II maybe, I personally enjoyed to the point I actually melted the inside of my xbox from playing it too much. But it has it's faults, so I recommend waiting for Fable III, which looks awesome. Also, yes to Halo Reach, Assassins Creed 2 (and the next one, Brotherhood), the Orange Box, Fallout 3 and when it's released, Fallout New Vegas.

So I was playing with hundreds of different A.I.'s, each with their own playstyle and personality on Bioshock 2 last night?
Seriously, loads of people play Bioshock 2 and L4D 2...

Well robots are more sophisticated than they've ever been...

In all seriousness perhaps due to timezone differences my ideal playtime is the ideal bedtime of most. And I highly doubt that many residents in Australia's neighbouring countries have xboxes...or money for that matter.

Arkham Azylum: Haven't played, never will.
Gears of war 2: A great cover-based shooter with interesting weapons.
Modern Warfare 2: A fastpaced fps. Great but frustrating multiplayer. The story mode is very forgetable and Spec Ops is just plain bad.
Dante's Inferno: Same as Arkham Azylum.

Games that soon will be released (that I recommend): Halo Reach. From what I've seen so far this will be one hell-of-a-game.
Fallout New Vegas: Another installement in the fallout series. An rpg with a nice twist, and it will probably be VERY timeconsuming if you like it (in a good way).

I enjoy all of those games, appart from Modern warfare 2.

I would suggest getting the following games though, Mass Effect (1&2), Left for Dead 2, Fallout 3 and who could forget the Halo games

Dont get these for an XBOX. They are good ports, but valve is a PC dev so you will have to pay for L4D dlc that PC users get for Free.
Also TF2 and Portal didnt even get dlcs and updates on the Xbox.
SO get L4D1, L4D2 and The Orange Box for the PC.
As for the XBOX, i recommend a racing game and HALO ODST. Maybe Street fighter.

Well considering he asked for good games for the xbox, and as these are some fantastic games for it I thought I would advise him to get them. He didn't mention having a pc otherwise I may have told him what you said
