- If you ever catch yourself thinking "I am smart enough to do this, I just can't be bothered" don't let that convince you that it's OK to slack off.

I got quite a few Cs that way.

- Some more (arguably bad) advice; decide where your interests lie, focus on high achievements in those areas, and just pass in the rest.

You try and get every subject you do perfect, you'll get way too strung out.

- Unless you looooove maths, just do normal maths, not the advanced stuff, because you'll pretty much never use anything you learn in high school maths in life (unless you take a job that requires it, such as, I don't know, a mathematician).

- Learn your way around as fast as possible. Being in your first week at high school, and getting lost... not fun. Maybe I'm too sensitive, but it shook me up (and, in my defense, the high school was waaaaaay bigger than my primary school).

Basically, if you haven't taken school seriously, you'd better start now. This is the time where it really matters because from here (assuming you want to go to college) is what will determine your options for college and your future in general.

High school is stressful, because now, you're at the bottom of the totem pole again, and there's going to be more work, more projects, and things like that.

As for procrastination, the best way to get over that is to reward yourself with something you really like after completing your assignments for the day. Or do something painful to yourself if you notice that you're straying from the task at hand, but that's more useful with a friend. You might think I'm joking, but it actually works. XD

Learn to love what you study for it's own sake. That's probably the best way out of procrastination.

Read a lot. Play music. Draw (even if you think you're bad at it). Think about life.

how old does that make you? im in fourth year going into fifth year of high school (which is my 13th year of education, but britain starts about a year early i believe. also we dont have middle school, and we call elementary primary. and you have 7 years of that, the 6 of high school.)
anyway, just be yourself and if that doesnt work lamp people who give you any shit. jk, ignore the fuckers.
anyway, dont procrastinate too hard. i spent all of today on here instead of revising for an exam.
if i fail this exam i cant get into a good uni.
its tomorrow.
at 9am.
thank god i've been revising in school for the past 3 months.

also, do not piss off teachers in subjects you like. they end up being dicks to you, and you end up dropping the subjects. in my first year, i kept phasing out in biology, and my teacher singled me out to ***** at about forgetting homework (something the whole class did) and i didnt take it. i've wanted to be a doctor since p1.
so dont have anything like ADD either.

This is true. College is just as easy but I have to spend half the time in class that I did in high school.

Why is it all so easy though.
Man I wonder what Asia is up to...
I mean you can learn more by self teaching than from college most of the time.

Don't procrastinate ever, it will kill you at times
be social, nothings worse than sitting alone at lunch
Do your homework, its not that bad in high school but once you get to college it sucks
Do projects before the day before their due, this will help you immensely when you get to college because those projects you can't finish in a day

that's about all I can think of, now high school wasn't too hard for me but I procrastinated a lot but I still got through but that's killing me now that I'm in college so its better to get in good habits now before its too late.

I got through high school by being sarcastic and irreverent all the time. People left me alone because I was funny, and also because I always had a better comeback to their insults than they could ever dream of. At the same time I noticed that a lot of people jsut as nerdy as I were getting by in different ways. So, my advice would be just to be yourself, and have inner confidence. Don't be self-effacing or act like a weakling, because that's precisely what bullies prey on.

Think more about your life rather than what your friends are doing. When I got to college I know so many people that they wish they would have taking higher level classes and dual enrolled them rather than taking easier classes with their friends that they don't see anymore.

1. Study every night. Every subject. Even when you think it's EXTREMELY easy, ten minutes for each subject. It doesn't matter now, but when you hit your last year, you'll realise how important it was to get into these habits early. I should know. It's 2am in the morning and I need to hand in a physics assignment later today. I'm in grade 12.

2. You're always dumber than you think you are. Never forget that. It'll stop you from doing some stupid things.

3. Care. Care about school, care about your marks, care about how hard you work to get them. Find the light at the end of the tunnel because it will help you get through a lot.

Sure, here you go:
Make money, fuck bitches.

You're probably too young to understand this, but being happy ultimately boils down to at least one of those two. So yeah, here's the secret to a happy life, the sort of stuff they won't teach you in high school.
And yes, "Don't be a Dick" is also solid advice, followed by "Always bring a towel."

Take it from someone in 12th grade; In a matter of years you will look back on yourself as you are now and think "I was a bit retarded, but at least I got better grades than I do now".
Being the lazy drop out I know exactly how you feel.

It's all down hill from there, but study and work hard and figure out what you wanna do with your life by trying different stuff out.

Join one of hte major organizations at your school: Band, Orchestra, Athletics, etc. I'm an anti-social nerd and still was able to have loads of fun and find many friends. However, just be warned if you join the band. It is very life consuming and it is a lot more athletic than people think it is during the fall semester.

Also, take Advanced Placement (AP) classes to prepare for college. I am hating myself right now because I'm having to take english once I back to college in the fall.

You also need to get into the habbit of studying now so it doesn't come back to bite you. I basically was able to sleep through most of my classes in highschool because I'm a fast learner. However, I'm in college now and they don't go over the material as much and now I'm having to learn a new habit or risk failing my classes.

Study. I don't give a damn study for every fucking thing there is.

Asked a LOT of questions.

Don't worry about being popular, that shit dosen't last for 15 mins

Always asked for help when you dosen't know the answer to something.

FUCK keg parties, You don't want to be involve in that scene, I watch two boys get arrested for rape back in sophmore year because of this girl who drunk too much and did not what "No."
meant. The real ironic part, they was let go when one of them videotape the whole damn thing and show it to the judge.

Anyway, I gotten offtopic.

Just be you ignored the bad scene and you should be A-okay. If you have any doubts, don't forget you have the escapist at hand.
