Oooh, I think we all love the "They don't owe you anything" argument. The simple counter-argument: I don't owe them a damn thing either. And that's why I'm not buying L4D2. (So I guess yes, you could say I was exaggerating with the desire for an apology; but I'm definitely waiting for a L4D1 patch before I throw away any more money towards them)HeadphoneHalo said:I think that you're spoiled. If this was any other company than VALVe, then you wouldn't react this way. Because other companies simply don't care, while VALVe are quite generous. For all you know, they aren't able to patch l4d because of time, priority of l4d2 and limitations of the original.
Quite frankly, they don't owe you anything. Their games aren't guaranteed to be flawless, which is why you read reviews and don't assume that VALVe are going to hand you everything on a silver plate. They can do whatever they want when it comes to releasing games.
Also, if games are made by any company other than Valve, then I will always analyze their features to death with as many reviews and examples as I can before buying it. Don't start thinking I hold a double standard.
And finally, server selection is an entirely different system from the in-game engine. It is not an excuse to say there were "limitations of the original". Time, maybe, but in good object-oriented programming it would be a simple copy-paste.
