There's a time in a person's life where they realize that something is wrong. As much as I adore this site, it's been a bit of a problem for me. I've become more withdrawn and I don't see anyone. There isn't anything wrong with this place, please understand that. It's just that I need some time off to try to live the life I've been robbing myself of.

It's painful to say this, but I'm swearing to not come to this place for a few months and probably video games to boot. Again there is nothing wrong with either, but I need to rebuild a social life for myself that I haven't had for a long time. It's hurts to say goodbye to the people that I've bonded with here, but I need to spend more time with people that I visually see on a day-to-day basis. I'm sorry to tell you this, but so long and I will see all of you in a few months.

To the mods, I'm sorry this doesn't promote much discussion beyond "See you later" and such, but I don't want tons of messages in my inbox when I come back in 2 or 3 months asking me where I've been or what happened to me.

So in an effort to make this post seem like less of a waste of time, what's the longest time you've spent away from the Escapist?

Since i found the this site, i'd say 3 days without being on it. im not addicted though, i just ger bord. its a shame that your leaving us becuase so far i've seen a lot of friendly people on this site and your avatar is AWESOME. but for the love of christ never give up gaming! even if its a weekly Guitar Hero with some friends. never lose sight!

The longest I've spent away from the Escapist is two months. In that time, I still had no social life. That's why I came back.

And I've probably only been gone from this site about a week and a bit at most, for holidays.

...Well, I might as well break the ice here too. Over the next two weeks, I have a total of five AS exams that contribute to my final grades, with a total of six and a half hours of exams which I want to obviously do my best on so I don't need to worry about any resits in June/ July. Because of this, I will be leaving this site for that time so I can get as much time for work and revision as possible. I will probably make a few more posts before deciding to give up on this site, but my plan is afterwards to get a two week suspension so I can sort out my A Levels. This site has ended up becoming my priority now instead of my Education, and I can't keep that up any more with the five A levels I'm taking and how hard the exams are for quite a few of them.

So if you don't see me on this site for a few weeks, that's why.
