So many games, so little time: how many different games do you play in a week?

I'm not sure why, but I find it very difficult to stick to one game for any length of time at the moment. It used to be that I'd pick up a title and play it through to the end, or until I got irrevocably stuck. More recently I'd stick with a single MMO for weeks at a time. Since I returned to regular single player gaming I've found that I rarely stick to a single title for any length of time. Short attention span? Too many to choose from? Less time to dedicate on a single game than I used to have? Less willingness to spend hours trying to get past difficulty spikes?

Probably all of the above to some extent. The last game I finished without going off to play something else was Portal, because it's awesome, and short. Conversely I haven't even installed the recently purchased Planescape: Torment, because I know it's a long game that I'll have to invest some serious time in to get the best from it.

In the last week I've played

Half Life
Saints Row 2

...and messed about briefly with two or three others.

So are you someone who plays one game from start to finish before moving onto another, or do you pick up a different game each day according to your mood at the time, alternate between two favourites, or something else?

I'me the kind of guy who plays two or three games at a time. Even though I don't own a system I *still* find a way to do it! I'm currently playing Restaurant City and Madden (both on Facebook), and Lost Kingdoms on my sister's GameCube.

I play for however long it takes for me to get bored.

That's why I still play Heroes of Newerth after a year, that's why I stopped playing Metro 2033 after an hour.

I play what I feel like playing usually. I've played so many games though you really get the feeling that most games are the same, when you solve a puzzle based on knowledge from a completely different game, or already know all the mechanics in a game before the tutorial level starts, you're not in for a fun time...

I try to finish all the games I play though, so i'll cycle between at least almost 8 games in one day until something catches my interest. Once I'm locked in I'll usually play it till the end, but getting drawn in so far...is hard for me.

I'd say in a week...I play well over 20 different games.

Depends on the game, some games keep my attention until the end, and some... don't.

On average I guess I'd say 5-6 games a week, unless I have game ADD, then that number goes up, big time.

At most I might split my time between two multiplayer games (Dawn of War 2 and whatever my friends are playing at the moment) and a single player game of some variety.

next week ill also have cod black ops. luck i finished fallout and cod will hopefully replac MoH

I normally don't buy games but if I rent it I'll play through it. Usually I play a game and have a sports sim to coincide with it. So I'll play a game with an actual story for a like four hours and then two of Madden. But then I don't play the next day. I try not to play video games for extended periods of time frequently because I'll become sedative and won't want to do anything else.

Lately I can't play anything for more than a hour, so I play like 3-4 games a week. Since I recently bought PS3 I still have a lot of them to try out.

I tend to play 5+ games at a time. Really bad for attempts at immersion, but great for variety.

I'm playing Demon's Souls, New Vegas, Ratchet & Clank, a second run of FF13, FF9 off the PSN store, and will soon be playing Sly Cooper and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

Usually no more than two - my primary multiplayer game be it MW2 or Halo Reach, and whatever single player campaign I'm working through.
This week my time has been divided between Halo Reach multiplayer and Fallout New Vegas. Though I've kind of ragequit New Vegas because the buggy ass piece of shit now freezes up at half hour intervals and I just can't be bothered until it's patched.
So I might go back to Dead Rising 2 because I've only put about 4 hours into it so far.

Sometimes, very rarely, I will have a game of Civ5 if my wife is playing something I can't join her in - but most of the time we're playing Halo together. I kind of wish Civ5 came out when we were both still playing MW2, I'd have more opportunities to play because it wasn't split-screen capable. Now that we're playing Halo I'm pretty much obliged to play with her.

For the most part, I play Team Fortress 2 daily (at least I used to, now that my PC's dead and needs fixing), but I occasionally play other games like Civilization V, Left 4 Dead, COD4 and/or Company of Heroes.

I always have Fallout 3 and Oblivion on the go, along with a plastic guitar game - it's been Rock Band 2 for a while, but Rock Band 3 is out now so at the moment it's that. This week there's also been a bit of Fallout: New Vegas, as well as starting a new game on the XBLA version of Portal just for the hell of it.
