...and as of 6:35 AM MST, it's already getting review bombed by the Metacritic users!

Seriously, is this going to become a trend?

Its not suprising seeing how MW1 = MW3, of course players that aren't five are going to be pissed off, theres no attempt at innovation or change, just the same stuff.

And most of the reviewers probably take their fair share of cuts from Activision for a good review anyways.

Yeah, because all review scores for MW3 were paid for but any other game that gets good review scores, like BF3 were clearly not paid for.

I never said that it wasn't paid for...... Bf3 isn't the game in question right now though. Mw3 is.

Wait...

But that clearly says that good review scores were paid for, right? Good Scores = Payment?

Also I mentioned BF3 but not as for the whole Bf3 vs MW3, I could have said any other AAA game getting good reviews.

I for my part don't believe in score reviews. If I want to know if a game is good, I read a three page article in a serious gaming magazine, not some user comment on the web. Most people couldn't make a objectiv rating if they wanted to.

Also, I fear triple-A only means that a game is expensive, it has nothing to do with wheater it's any good.

Well, I know why some people review bombed it
Soap dies. He was the player character in COD4 and a fairly important character since.

This combined with the STILL minuscule campaign and the seemingly unchanged multiplayer (note: I for one think MW3 is OK, but that's probably because I expected this and still enjoy shooting my friends in the face with RPGs)

Battlefield 3 got a 6.8, which is pretty bad. I guess the developers are just not living up to the expectations that they are giving to people. They should maybe tone down their marketing or try something fresh to regain public opinion.

Pathetic. I got BF3 because I prefer that sort of game, but the CoD games are still solid and enjoyable multi-player experiences of a different flavour.

The Meta critic thing is the same as any other gaming "dispute". People who buy one thing and then stupidly feel the need to claim everything else is worse... Console Wars, MMO Wars, now FPS Wars?

And this, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, is why you never pay attention to Metacritic user scores. Ever.

The people who are actually trying to give an honest opinion are inevitably outnumbered 10 to 1 by loudmouthed idiots handing out 10s or 0s in order to influence the score as much as possible.

Try reading the actual comments. We're talking Youtube quality, right there. And someone thought it would be a good idea to give these people a voice and compile an aggregate of their opinions. Yeesh.

Why change a formula that obviously works?

Other studios are pushing the industry forward - if a couple want to rest on their laurels and still put out (imo) good games, I don't see the harm.

You still can't give people the same thing over and over and expect people to feel good about it. I kind of feel stupid for paying for the same thing I have sitting on my shelf already. I haven't bought it yet, but I eventually will. Why? I'm an idiot.

BF3 does awesome large scale sandbox combat. MW3 does great smaller scale corridor shooter.

They're both great MP games. MW3's campaign likely comes out on top though simply cause BF3's SP campaign had zero redeeming qualities.

I think both games though stand up pretty well on their multi player components though. Definitely better than that horde of XBL mouth breathers are rating MW3, but to be fair probably not as high as professional reviewers were rating BF3 or MW3 either.

The truth is always somewhere in the middle.

oh noez the score is getting bombed! it must be the bf3 fanboys! -_-
or maybe people generally arnt happy with it which was bound to happen... same thing happened last year, everyone went out bought blops, played it for a day or two, bitched about it, im not getting next cod bla bla bla, oh look mw3 is out, WAIT! its the same game that ive paid for yet again, next year the same cycle repeats its self.

Activisions dev philosophy

ctrl c textures and map layouts from previous game
ctrl v textures and map layouts onto slightly tweaked engine
????
change title from previous generic cod number
profit
repeat for infinite monies

Have you seen the amount of hate that circulates for this game? Hell the hate base is big enough to build a massive advertising campaign just to appeal to them (Battlefield 3).

None of the negative reviews have even played the game, you're much better off getting some advice from the actual reviewers. User reviews are entirely useless nowadays for the big AAA games.
