I could care less about review scores. Just as long as the COD kiddies stick to their own game and don't come into my Battlefield 3.

I always make it a point to never read the 10/10 (or 0/10 for that matter) reviews. 10/10 is perfection, which no game has managed to do (5/5 is alright, just because there are fewer dividing marks). On the one hand you have irate haters, and on the other either bought reviews or idiots peddling to their base. I haven't played it, nor will I, but the game is neither a 10 or a 0, but something in the middle. Now can we please talk about more interesting titles dropping November?

PS: that 70 review from gamer.no reads like a real review. Certainly is more believable than the two above it...

Its not suprising seeing how MW1 = MW3, of course players that aren't five are going to be pissed off, theres no attempt at innovation or change, just the same stuff.
You know, this argument always confused me. Sure if Activision made a separate series that was pretty much a clone of MW then I could understand it but hating a direct sequel because it is not different? I would think that more people would be pissed off if Activision greatly changed the basic formula of the game. I mean what changes would you want to see between MW2 and MW3?

OT: People are trolling, I'm guessing that well more than half of the people who are metabombing it are going to be playing it regularly for the next few months.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, is why you never pay attention to Metacritic user scores. Ever.
To be fair, I wouldn't pay much attention to the reviewer scores either. Clearly the game is hardly deserving of a 3/10 score, but it really isn't a 9/10 either.

Meh, who cares.

Just the intense butthurt. These are obviously people that got pulled in by EA's aggressive Battlefield 3 marketing campaign. Who cares about the gullible idiots.
Yes, if we dislike MW3 it means we got pulled in by EA. Clearly. That's definitely it. Obviously.

I really honestly just do not care. A few people speaking their minds out on the internet isn't going to stop millions of people paying 60 bucks for what is essentially just the same crippled multiplayer I've personally come to expect. And, just like with every CoD since 4, we're all going to go from loving it to hating it, and we'll be back to Black Ops in no time. I don't much have the patience for watching the miraculous change of face for most of these players anymore, so I'm just going to try and ignore this release.

Well, I know why some people review bombed it
Soap dies. He was the player character in COD4 and a fairly important character since.

This combined with the STILL minuscule campaign and the seemingly unchanged multiplayer (note: I for one think MW3 is OK, but that's probably because I expected this and still enjoy shooting my friends in the face with RPGs)
Damn! I wish I didn't open that spoiler. Damn! Damn! Damn!

Anyway,I don't care for reviews. I prefer to play a game for myself to see if I enjoy it.

No, but if you go to metacritic and score the game as a 0 despite not having played it, you are obviously a douche and an idiot.

And thats what this thread is about, is it not? About the metacritic reviews, and not the game itself?

Learning to read and think would do you a world of good.

How so? If we played MW1-2, i think we can definitely and safely review this game. Cod is stale and retarded. I am not afraid to say i despise the people who flock to it every sequel. MW 1 was the only okay one. Now its just a rehash and in my book that is not okay. If battlefield did what CoD is doing. We would be on battlefield 5 by now. Battlefield 2142 doesnt count cause it was DIFFERENT, it was in the future, hence the change and refreshment.

...and as of 6:35 AM MST, it's already getting review bombed by the Metacritic users!

Seriously, is this going to become a trend?
i actually have spoken with a few who played it, all have told me it was disappointing.

and every damn mainstream reviewer is giving it a friggin 9/10 even though its the same and had a forgettable story. Yeah they gave Battlefield similar rating but then again SHIT CHANGED AND IMPROVED in that game. though as big of a fan i am to that series even i reduced more than ONE point for a MEH single player. In fact i usually rate the two separately.

I think it just demonstrates how immature people can be. The fact of the matter is that no matter how much you think MW3 sucks, under NO rating system does it deserve a 0, 1, 2, or 3 out of 10. People are obviously just not giving it honest reviews.

Admit it now, people.

Call Of Duty is a decent series. The gameplay is fairly good (multiplayer's shite though), the story is actually suprisingly nice, the action is superb, and the characters tend to be quite likeable. The problem that people get so snagged on is that it hasn't changed. A new story campaign, few new guns and maps for multiplayer, some new perks and killstreaks, but really not much else. It always uses almost the exact same formula with minimal improvement for each new game. Whilst it is genuinely an alright series, it's too attatched to its formula for it to really go anywhere unique.

And the fanbase is HORRIFIC.

I'm impressed that Destructoid gave it 9.5 o_O
Obviously, MW3 does what it does extremely well, but it's not a 9.5 game IMHO... But Destructoid also describes 9's as "best in their "genre"", which to me just means that COD is no longer an FPS... It has become its own genre...

Best Regards

Meh, I never liked Call of Duty or BF3 to begin with; and it's mostly because of the supremely obnoxious fanbase. My girlfriend got this and I hope she gets to enjoy it despite the obnoxious people and it supposedly being the "same thing as MW2". I for one cannot judge it fairly because I have never played MW2 and never will (because I don't like COD games, simple as that; I've played WAW and MW1) so I can't say if it's the same. But then again it's mostly my girlfriend's younger brother who plays it with his friends, she mostly watches and might play every now and then. She is mostly excited for Skyrim just as I'm sure many of you are, and of course ACR which me and my girlfriend are really excited for.

Why can't anyone take the philosophy of "If it isn't broke, don't fix it"? More importantly, why is this going on with MW3 & BF3 still? I don't bother with metacritics, but I'm feeling a rage building to everyone who says "oh, Mudurn Wahfur just DLC. Nunthinks differentz!!!!" not as a fan of the series, but as a gamer in general. If I were to create a thread detailing how Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy or any other "classic" game just "copy-paste" repeatedly, then I promise that said thread will be flamed more than hell itself and I would be dubbed a troll for pointing out what I've seen.
MW3 has new things, but the target market and the way they play haven't changed a single bit. That's my opinion as to why there's so much hate, but hey that's the way the internet works.
