Early Christmas this year, I guess. Anyway, my question is, what are some great PS3 or PSN exclusives that are really worth getting? Can be new games or older games. Or, alternatively, what PS3 games should I stay far, far away from?

Well, I have God of War 3. REALLY fun to play, and it looks REALLY good.

There are also the Ratchet and Clank games too. They are pretty fun.
I heard Resistance is fun, though I never tried it.

And you should also get netflix. You watch movies instantly on your TV. There are sooooo many movies to pick from every genre, and it keeps growing.
I canceled the cable and got netflix on the PS3 instead. Best decision ever.

Uncharted
Uncharted 2
Heavy Rain
MAG (only if you like these sorts of games, it has a steep learning curve, but is fun once you learn it)
Killzone 2
Dead Nation
God of War 3
Little Big Planet
Infamous
Demon Souls
Metal Gear Solid 4
The FF collection on PSN (7,8 & 9)
Populous the Beginning
Abe's Oddysee

And quite a few more, but none are popping into my head at the moment.

Note that the sequel to many of these series are due to be released. Uncharted 3 and Killzone 3 are just two of those.

There are plenty of choices for PS3, just depends on what sort of games you're into.

I'm not sure how many people still play Warhawk, but that was a damn fun game to play as well :D

I'mma list the obvious: Uncharted 2, Motorstorm Pacific Rift, Batman Arkham Asylum, Red Dead Redemption, Metal Gear Solid 4, Demon's souls, God of War III.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Stay far, far away from Lair. Far away. And on PSN, stay away from Super Rub-a-dub.

Uh, Sly Collection, Uncharted series, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance series if you're an FPS fan, InFamous, Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time. You're not without quality games, but Ratchet and InFamous are open world platformers, and Uncharted is a third person action series.

Check em out, see what you like.

Killzone 2 rocks, as does Siren: Blood Curse, MGS4 (If you like the MGS series) inFamous is alright. But a lot of decent games are multi-console, like the Assassin Creed series, Just Cause 2, GTA4, Red Dead Redemption, soon Mass Effect 2, etc.

I don't have a PS3, but I've heard much good stuff about the Uncharted series.
Definitely the uncharted games. They're like playing through an Indiana Jones movie. The only thing I wish was different is that they were longer.

inFamous is a really good one that I've played.

The Sly Collection will be great too, but I'm not sure when that's being released or if it has been already.

I've heard alot of good things about Daemons Souls, that is if you like challenging rpg fighting games.

I would have to say that, for mindless fun, LittleBigPlanet is definatly worth the $20-30 cost for the GOTY.
My favorite exclusive, though, would be Demon's Souls... but you have to have alot of patience and enjoy RPGs.
If you prefer FPS's then you should look into the Resistance series and if you want a multiplayer battleground then get Warhawk... both are pretty cheap now.
For adventure games you should look into either Heavy Rain or the Sam and Max games on the PSN.

Those are just a few 'exclusives' I like but there are a ton of other good games as well.

edit: Cuboid is a great PSN game if you want a puzzler

Aww, people give Lair a lot of slack :) Lair can be rather fun at the best of times, what cripples it and makes it not fun is the controls, but if it wasn't for the controls Lair would be okay.

Was more stimulating than Haze, thats for sure, Haze bored me into oblivion, not to mention bug infested, heck, I opened the case and bugs crawled out.

Ill just mention one i had a while back and was pretty good: WarHawk, it's a multiplayer only game, it's just a cartoony/futuristic version of Battlefield with more air combat focus.

Infamous is a ton of fun. On the PSN, the Pixel Junk games are lots of fun. Burn Zombie Burn is a rudimentary little bag of giggles. Echochrome has its fun moments. As for AAA titles, The God of War, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Little Big Planet, and Assassins Creed titles are all veritable buckets of excitement. Dragon Age, The Elder Scrolls, and Fallout are good RPGs. Recently, I've found Enslaved: Odyssey to the West to be quite fun.

That's just nasty but hilarious. And yes Lair was not that bad. Not even the controls were as bad as people exaggerate. I've beaten it twice and I thoroughly enjoyed the motion controls. Heck even with the DLC from the PSN that allows for analog control I haven't once played it with those controls. And it's super cheap now so even if you don't like it you get your moneys worth. And the music is utterly phenomenal.
