Oh hey, hating on Nintendo seems cool now. Better jump on that bandwagon so hard that the wheels break.
Either way, speaking of growing out, I grew out of grey military shooter a while ago, and I find the notion that every game needs to have a coop mode kind of misguided at best, especially if you put those weird MMO elements in it. And I never liked realistic racing games or sports. So yeah... MS, Sony, EA and Ubisoft sort of didn't do it for me. And the conferences themselves were just comically bad... It was like they had a secret bet going who could bring the most comic book villain looking guy on stage... it baffled me.
And while I'm ranting, everything they showed in those conferences that was supposedly "gameplay footage" played live by people holding controllers in front of a crowd looked fake as all hell. With the notable exception of Witcher 3, but that's what I have come to expect from eastern Europe devs, and good on them to stay true to that. Other then that, the only games that looked interesting to me where a bunch of Indie titles (which I will get much cheaper and more convenient on PC) and Sunset Overdrive, but that's not enough for me to want to buy a Xbone. But even that video looked fake.. and I feel like people are all to willing to forget Colonial Marines. Or more recently freaking Watchdogs.
So yeah, to me, Nintendo won e3. They announced new iterations of all their popular franchises are in the work by now, which is exactly what their fans want, and that's what they said they were going to be all about now with the Wii U. Catering to their fans. Something I don't think they did a lot with the Wii. And I think it's a good move for them.
Right now it feels like noone is taking risks in the gaming industry, at least in the AAA market. But at the end of the day, I guess I feel like Nintendo can be trusted to deliver a solid game no matter what. And all too often MS and Sony don't. Hence why I favour Nintendo right now. But then again, I wont buy any of the consoles this generation, so my opinion really doesn't matter at all.
