Something along those lines.
That chart's always bothered me, it's just plain wrong in many places. In KOTOR you don't get your magical companion until about 5-6 hours in, AFTER getting two other non magical companions. In ME1 Cerberus were nobodies in ~2 side quests. The evil organization section for DA:O just says "lol darkspawn" and the fade isn't really a dream sequence. And I haven't even played Jade Empire but "your travels simply take you across the land" sounds like the exact opposite of 4 locations. Overall it's accurate, but still.

Yeah, Bioware really needs to take a page from the Witcher and make the escapades fairly self-contained to each game. They really made DA:O like they weren't planning to get a sequel.

A)Casey Hudson is an Executive Producer. He's a manager, he doesn't write.

B)Where the hell have you been? Bioware's "fans" turned rabid against them like a ravenous beast the second they released a game that, while still pretty damn good, wasn't what they were expecting.THis is pretty par the course for a Bioware thread these days.

7. Mages/Templars

It became pretty clear that they wanted to turn Dragon Age into fantasy X-Men at the tail end of DA2. In much the same way that it became clear they wanted to turn Mass Effect into Terminator in space at the tail end of ME2. Anders is going to be redesigned as Magneto at some point (they redesigned him from a snarky self interested hetero slacker who you could kill into a plot mandatory bisexual crusader for mage rights with a martyr complex, so I don't think this is a stretch). At some point you'll be given the option to neuter/kill all mages. After that choice is made the series will end, and nothing thereafter will be expanded upon or... well, you get the idea.

GET OUT OF MY HEAD CHARLES!
were....were you making a juggernaut reference, good sir?

if so, you get a huge fucking cookie, because i mentally say that line all the time. if not...well..this is awkward.

OT: interesting points, sadly i've lost all optimism for bioware so i wouldn't doubt it on some of those...

Man, I was spouting Doom and Gloom about Bioware back when they were releasing footage for DA2. That's right, before it even came out. You all are just a bunch of bandwagon pessimists. Get off my lawn!

Sadly, many of these seem spot-on. Somebody should necro this thread in a year or two and find out.
A year or 2? Are you kidding? DA3 will be out in time for Christmas.
Really? They haven't even started the marketing cycle for it yet.
I'm calling it now. The marketing push for DA3 will start end of June/early July, Preorders will start to be taken(if they already aren't) in mid-August. 30% chance that it'll be pushed back for a March release, depending on what gets announced between now and then, but a Christmas release will be announced.

Awww, is someone a little bitter that they've been hurt by one of their fictions? How adorable. Well, since it's the pretend celebration of my 5000th post, let's run through some of these, shall we?

Emiscary said:
1. The God (Demon?) Child.
Yes, because Bioware's really good about not making giant world-ending promises just cease to matter like that. The idea of seven old gods, and only five blights thus far? The idea that nations must unite to end such things? The idea of a vast gap in ideology between those willing to suffer the chantry and those who find it abominable, and the way the empires and nations of Thedas have a long history of two extremes? Yes, these are all small ideas, aren't they? The idea of the soul of an old god in the form of a child that can be manipulated at will by a powerful witch? Doubt they'll be just brushing it under the rug. Expect it show up again in a big way.

2. Sandal.
Yep, Sandal probably will be a Deus Ex Machina moment, because he's being blatantly set up as a character that has an undercurrent of unparalleled power and awareness running beneath an exterior of childish naivete, and he's going to do something unique to save whomever he's supposed to save. And we'll love him for it. He most likely won't be the last choice in Mass Effect, however, so you might want to stop sucking on lemons on this one.

3. Flemeth.
Probably an old god running around unaccounted for. More than likely going to be involved with Morrigan and the child at some point.

4. Orlais
They've said the next installment will feature Orlais. This is fact, from the mouth of god, since we're thinking in tropes for the moment. Two games leading up to the idea of a Fereldan war with Orlais similarly won't get brushed under the rug.

5. The Dalish
This just seems you've been sucking on lemons again, specifically lemons with some Mass Effect 3 flavoring agents. The two series are similar, and employ some of the same ideas, but don't expect a rehash. Unless they find what happened to Arlathan, don't expect much to happen with them. As individual characters they're interesting, as a group, they're kind of dull, stuck rooting around in the mud for scraps of their old, defeated empire.

6. The Idol
New/really ancient, rare form of lyrium, and the effects of normal lyrium on the minds of those who handle it is already documented. Safe to assume a more potent form makes you go even crazier. Expect trace to moderate amounts of more super lyrium, only mentions of the idol, and what it did to Meredith.

7. Mages/Templars
Again, more Mass Effect lemons, with a couple of grains of interest sprinkled throughout. Since they've said the Templar/Mage conflict was to be the expansion pack of DA2, now cancelled and added to three, and that one thing they will do their best to fix is the import data, it's safe to assume that Anders might already be dead. You also assume they will make us side with the Templars, almost oddly so, since both games have given fair points on both sides, and that this has been one of the main decisions of both games, so you might want to expect forcibly ending the chantry's position over mages as another alternative, one in favor of the mages.

8. Mark of the Assassin
Don't care, Tallis was annoying, kinda hope she gets a footnote somewhere about a thief found dead with a specific artifact, but as for her showing up again as some kind of ex-Qunari wannabe trying to get back in with them as they storm Thedas, I really don't care.

9. Legacy
Common theory has it that Corypheus escapes the death swing into the old Warden, which is why the character staggers right before the final blow and his demeanor completely changes, and off he goes to do whatever a magister of Tevinter in the body of a warden commander would go to do. As to the similar boss fight...can't say. I doubt we've seen the end of the servants of Dumat being granted his power, but I'm skeptical it would be identical.

10. Ex Party Members
You have an odd fixation on "banging". Might want to look into that in yourself.

And no doubt some will show up from both games, while others get the boot from the series, not likely to be seen again. Expect Sten from Origins to possibly make an appearance when the Qunari come romping back through in a huff, as they most certainly will. Further speculation is only speculation, though I personally hope to see Oghren and Varric again.

11. The Dog
I'm completely okay with everything you said concerning the dog. Naming a war dog after the various mythological gods of war, or ironically naming him "Mr Puddles", is perfectly fine with me, since the dog isn't exactly a character, more of an aside they threw in for funsies. Sometimes, developer funsies in a game are perfectly fine. Besides, some of us actually like dogs, and find them wonderful companions.

12. Enemy Types
Well, yes. Those are the creatures found in the bestiary of Fereldan. Those are similarly the standard fantasy enemy models, with some variation. This being a standard fantasy game, built by people who have been building such games for quite some time, what would you expect? Though, probably more human enemies than Darkspawn, unless they want to kick off two blights in a century, which is certainly a possibility, but seems kind of tacky. Unless they wanted to find the last two Archdemons more or less at the same time, and have a double throwdown. But, that's just speculation. The existing monster models are the bread and butter/meat and potatoes of the standard fantasy setting, and while there might be a delicious desert from time to time, you're not gonna go far without the staples of your setting.
