I'll probably forget what day it is, then will be reminded of it and finally I'll just shrug it off. Valentine's day is a co-opted Catholic festivity that I try to avoid, such as Easter, Christmas and all the rest. It's nice being single on Valentine's Day, there's no pressure to do anything! No disappointment that the date was missed or that the gift wasn't as romantic or thoughtful, no obligation to do something because you have to (instead of because you want to), no need to hear someone ***** and moan about much Valentine's sucks or sigh at how wonderful it is.

Bachelorhood is awesome.

Wake up, go to a couple college classes, come home, eat dinner and chill for the rest of the night. Unless classmates make a point of talking about it a bunch, I'll likely not even care.

Do what I always do. Schoolwork, video games and sleeping. Got plenty of games to play anyway. Still have New Vegas, Arkham Asylum, Metal Slug games and a Cave Story replay/Another pathetic attempt at beating Hell.

I'll probably be playing EVE, practicing drums and piano, eating food, feed my cats and so on.
You know, like the day before, and the day after.

Normally, nothing. It's a Thursday so I will have to work the next morning.

However I have decided to become a bit more proactive in my everything this year (so far I'm actually doing it too...), so I might ask someone out. Preferably someone I have a romantic interest in, but if not just a random single friend, have a nice dinner somewhere and just have a fun night. That idea just came to me, and I'm think I'm actually going to try and get it going.

Wear my army uniform, use my scottish accent, and celebrate Valentines
Basically I'll be drinking and saying how tough it was to train people to drive them.

I'm in a long-distance relationship so I'm answering anyway...and the answer is a mixture of sleep, taco bell, the possibility of work and, a cocktail of Virtual Boy, Wii-U (because Fist of the North Star) and, various other games. May possibly be indulging in Fire Emblem 3DS if I have that.

Huh. I forgot that's Valentine's day. I'm actually booking the day off of work to go visit an old room-mate for a while and possibly watch a film.

Ha, totally going to have to get him a Valentine's card now.

The usual. Maybe play a game when I get home, but I probably wont have time since Thursdays are late days. I think I might have some lab work to do that day so there's that. The 14th doesn't mean anything different than the 15th or the 16th. I don't see why I should care any more about what I do on that day than any other day of the year.

Who bloody cares about Valentine's? You don't even get a day off. At least I can stay at home during Easter, Midsummer, Christmas and New Year's (although the family will kidnap me for a minimum of two of those events). Valentine's Day? Just another commercial feeding trough for good little pigs. If you want to celebrate your relationship, do it on your bloody anniversary, or just have cozy shag when the weekend comes around.

*sigh* Bloody sodding hell...

As a person currently in a relationship I'll be doing absolutely nothing.
I ma against the rabid, exploitative, corrupt consumerist bullshit that this "holiday" has become. I have better shit to do than waste what little and hard earned money I have on tokens of "love" my significant other neither needs nor should need. If my saying I love her and if my actions and behaviors don't convince her I love her but some shiny overpriced trinket or crappy chocolates will then she is not the girl for me and is as shallow as the stagnant puddle of water in my shed.

I also have work that day.

Probably complaining about the conspiracy of the greetings card industry, eating chocolate, and wondering how St. Valentine got associated with romance.

Dota2 for the standard 6-15 hours depending upon mood (which depends on whose team the inevitable russians are on) and the advance of fatigue. I'll eat a third of a block of cheese, drink a lot of chocolate coffee and count the day as nothing other than one less that stands between me and SC2: Heart of the Swarm in March.

Thursday.....work. A ten hour shift. Like I do every thursday. Because fuck needing a day to tell my woman I love her.

Of course, I'm single, and never gave much of a damn about it in the first place.
