I didn't really want to be asking this, but what games are there worth getting on the PS4 that I can't get on the PC?

Basically what's happened is that I've fallen madly in love with Dark Souls. After having it sit in my steam library for 2 years, I finally nutted up and played it. After doing my research and getting my rhythm down, I finally broke through the pain barrier. After I played through the first one, I bought the second one and played through that, and now I'm playing through the first one again. I honestly cannot remember the last time a game has consumed my attention and focus to this degree. I kinda feel like I'm chasing the dragon a bit on this one though, since I'm not getting as much of a buzz the second time around (the fact that I know the tricks of the trade this time around is helping that regard).

So, really I want to get Bloodborne. However, as much as I love the From Software style of game, I'm not interested in buying a whole console for one game. Basically I want to know if I can justify such an expenditure. The only games I know of that interest me so far is Bloodborne and Infamous: Second Son. I know Journey's just had an updated re-release that's crossbuy on it, so that's something, but since I already have the PS3 version it's not enough.

Probably not a complete list, but I glanced at it and seemed close enough.

'Yes' means pure exclusive. 'Console' means there's probably a Windows release.

Beyond that, I can't really say where your tastes lay, but the Disgaea 5 & FFVII HD remake are coming...

I really don't think there's enough to make it worth getting a PS4/Xbone unless you're looking at other reasons. I wouldn't have one if my friends had any interest in a PC, because all the games we play can be played on PC.

Wii U, I could see if you're into Nintendo titles. But neither of the other two, IMHO, on their own.

I hate to say it, owning a PS4 and all, but if you have a PC of comparable/greater power than the PS4, probably not too many.

Bloodborne, obviously, but you know that. Outside of that, it's mostly things that will be on the PS4. I don't know if you paid attention to E3 this year, but Horizon: Zero Dawn looks goddamned amazing in my eyes, really unique looking world and experience. The last guardian is also coming (again). Disgaea 5, if you love an entertaining grind. Persona 5, if you love the adventures of anime school children. Shenmue 3, if you happen to want to know the end of a dreamcast era trilogy that I assumed about 10 people in the world still cared about, but was apparently proven entirely wrong by the super-funded kickstarter.

Of course, what with none of those being released yet, they could all easily be absolutely terrible, so I can't really recommend any of them truthfully (though, they do have good pedigree's behind them, with experienced, well respected developers and series' that haven't dropped the ball yet).

The only real answer I can think of (outside of the aforementioned bloodborne), and I don't really want to say it because it sounds so trolly, is a version of Batman: Arkham Knight that actually runs. But hey, don't blame me, blame Rocksteady/Warnerbrothers.

Honestly though, the reason I bought one was that my laptop was woefully outdated, I wanted to play games in my living room, and gaming laptops are crazy expensive compared to a PS4. But, if you're happy with your PC, I can't say there's enough there to recommend getting a PS4 as well. At least not yet.

Assuming you have a PS3 (with the mention of Journey), what about Demon's Souls? It's a PS3 title, it's excellent, and it's on sale right now. Maybe something to tide you over while you decide whether there's enough exclusives on PS4 to justify buying it.

inFAMOUS: Second Son really isn't worth it. You're better off replaying the first two games.

Unfortunately, Bloodborne really is the only stand-out exclussive for the PS4 at this time. So if you already have a competent gaming PC I wouldn't bother yet, unless you REALLY need that new Fromsoft fix and are prepared to lay down 400 bucks for it. At the risk you may not even like it, since I have heard of Dark Souls fans that hated the game due to the lack of a shield and the predominance of the gun counter.

I didn't pay huge attention to E3 this year. That Horizon game does look interesting, but after things like Watch Dogs and Colonial Marines and so on, I don't trust "gameplay" footage until it's on shelves.

I had forgotten about the Last guardian, that's something though. It's probably best I do wait though.

Thanks for the responses folks

Last of US - if you ain't already played it on PS3.
Infamous 2 was OK and should be really cheap now, worth taking a look if you liked the originals.
Overall though the 'exclusive' games are disappointing.
I personally opted for PS4 when I saw how awesome The Order looked, then it was released and all excitement drained, quicktime and cover shite with pretty graphics.
I think the catalogue of games that were supposed to appear has sadly diminished since it's original release, so most of the available stuff is just the usual rehashed or franchise games that are always nicer on the PC anyway (except Arkham Knight obviously)

I'm in the same boat with you. The fan noise of my phat ps3 is deafening. But other than Bborne most of the games that interest me are rereleases of games I already plaed. Borderlands, DmC, GoW3 ...

Come to think of it the one other game so far that sounds tempting is Onechanbara Z2.

I am sure this will change soon enough.

I really liked Infamous Second Son and Killzone was alright I guess, but other than that? I dunno really, I mean I think there's a bunch of JRPGs and such but I'm pretty sure you can get most of them on PS3 and Vita. I've heard pretty good things about Driveclub now it's been patched.

To be quite honest I kinda regret buying one at launch, I should have just waited. I guess it's nice to have but there's not much to really play on it, the last game I bought was God of War 3 and before that it was Borderlands. Remasters of older titles, whilst nice, are nothing to get all excited about.

Well there was also Infamous: First Light which is a like a standalone expansion to Second Son which kind of acts as a prequel to it as well. So if you like Infamous games that might tick a box for you.

Killzone Shadowfall was fun, if a little short. Also had the "launch title" thing hanging over it's head so has several obligatory sections that might as well have been labelled "Now you will play with the touchpad because it's new and we want to show off why it's so great" - Spoiler Alert, the touchpad sucks.

Then there will be Uncharted 4 but I don't think we will get that until next year.

Drive club is pretty great if you like semi realistic driving games, and it's free right now on psn. As a From Soft fanatic who's been with the series since kings field I can tell you that I found Bloodborne to the the best pve experience in the series. So to me, that justified a purchase of the console on it's own. But I'm fucking crazy for Souls, I won't pretend that that one experience is or even should be enough for other people to buy a console.

Well, I think my computer made my mind up for me. It had a bit of a brain sneeze and almost didn't come back from it. So, I'll not be buying a PS4 for a while, until I'm sure I won't have to fork out for a new PC >_>

Honestly I got nothing, besides Bloodborne. Last year Metal Gear Solid V and JRPGs like the Persona or Tales of series were the only reasons I considered getting a PS4. Then it was revealed that MGSV would be on Steam and Persona 5 and Tales of Zesteria would both be on the PS3, so that pretty much sunk any reason for me to get a PS4 this year.

Also with the increase of JRPGs in Steam's library and the fact that Tales of Zesteria is coming out on Steam its possible that in the future other well known JRPG franchises won't remain console exclusives (with the exception of timed exclusives).

We'll always have Disgaea.
Will we? As far as I know Sony doesn't have anything to do with Disgaea, so what's stopping NIS from bringing the franchise to the PC if they think it will sell.

inFamous, LittleBigplanet is still a fairly fun romp, though it suffered from some initial glitchiness. Destiny's actual gameplay is pretty good (though not an exclusive console-wise, it's not on PC). Some of my buddies prettymuch live in War Thunder.
