So power rangers dino charge what did you think.

I watch the first episode of Power Rangers Dino Charge on nick's website about a week back. My bar was super low after the train wrecks that were samurai and megaforce. I hated them so much that I didn't even bother finishing them(This's coming from the man who finished watching mystic force, Operation Overdrive and liked wild force) but I was pleasantly surprised. I like the fact that they're not copying the sentai again, I liked the characters, the actings better(keep in mind they're better acted by power rangers standards.) and I really love the scenes with the villains the most.

So what did you guys think about the first episode.

Its a new season (offical premire was on Saturday). Its based on the 2013-2014 sentai Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger.

OT: I thought it was pretty good. Its off to a much a better start than the last four seasons. My only issue is Tyler's delivery on some lines seems really flat. I don't if its because hes trying to sound mellow (which clashes with his actions) or its lack of experience in acting. I also think having Judd Lynn back is a really good thing.

To be far they did the same with turbo and turbo had a movie so it had no excuse for that. still hated the last 2 seasons with a burning passion but it's not like they didn't do that before.

I've not really kept up with Power Rangers to any great extent since the Morphin era, but I was under the impression that Samurai was one of the more positively received seasons.

Then again, my favourite would be RPM, and I understood that had a mixed reception in the fanbase, so go figure.

.....WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR POWER RANGERS FACTS! I heard samurai was somewhat well received when it started but by the end most fans hated it and rpm is seen as one of the best power rangers seasons.

Minus the horrible cgi I loved it. We havnt had a new power rangers only villian in a while and that opening told us more then all of megaforce ever did in its entire run.

Heads up guys this season gets alot of rangers so get ready to see every color but yellow.


I loved how the trex was so casual in walking up chomp throwing then walking off.

Thank god no roll call in opening I hated that so much

I like the new sing it's not just the same remix as before

I thought it was pretty good, though the cheesy dialouge did bug me a bit, as well the characters insistence on describing every little thing that happened to them like they were in a silver age comic book.

To answer your question, I never said I had facts, I was just going by the impressions I got. When Samurai first came out the most common vibe I got was that it was Saban "taking it back to its roots" and somesuch - basically "there's no school like the old school," and ergo, quality. There's also the fact that on ff.net, Samurai has by far the most entries in the Power Rangers section when you apply the world filter.

As for RPM, the impression I got from those who disliked it was that it was taking itself too seriously, that it was a ripoff of In Space (I can understand that latter thought), etc. Again, liked it myself, and apart from SPD, it's the only series I watched from start to finish, minus the final few episodes. Apart from those, and a few episodes from various seasons I've seen at random, most of what I know comes from Linkara's History of Power Rangers series.

Haven't watched or played anything Power Rangers related in a long time, so for the heck of it I watched the first episode.

I like the evil creeps, they're fun, but when it got to the main cast it became a corn and cheese spread. A little too campy for me I'm afraid.

-The theme song...my ears...they burn!!!

-I know Power Rangers has never featured that good CGI, but I can't help but feel it's gone downhill since past seasons.

-Keeper...well, he seems okay. I'll give credit in that we haven't really had a mentor figure like him before, at least physically.

-The T-Rex...my eyes...they bleed...

-Villains...okay, nothing special, but the designs aren't too bad. And the bickering couple aren't too bad.

-Yes Sledge, take up the bomb and don't kill Keeper because...reasons (yes, I know he didn't know, but that doesn't really explain why he let Keeper live).

-More dinosaurs...save me Spielberg, save me!

-Okay, fight scene...short, but not too bad.

-Wait, so if this is 65 million years ago, why does North America look the same as it does in the present? And come to think of it, the gems from Dino Thunder were said to have been carried on the asteroid so...did Sledge not know about this? Or did he not care?

...I'm starting to realize that this is the third time dinosaurs have been used as a basis for zords. Um, yay?

-CGI dust cloud...bleh.

-Red Ranger hasn't heard of Google Maps.

-Power Rangers have entered the selfie craze...heh, nice.

-Lamest. Morphing. Sequence. Ever.

-Aw come on, you could have at least eaten him.

-They seem to be taking this whole monster/dinosaur/ranger thing pretty well.

-Moralizing and shipping...yay.

Okay, snark aside...meh. It's far from bad, the actors are decent, and the creature designs are okay. On the other hand, there's a passe feeling about the whole morphing/rangers thing. Thinking of previous season openers, the morph sequence has always been this big event, and while we only have two rangers so far, it still feels underwhelming.
