Which detonates your argument as now everything is a drug. BAN EVERYTHING!

That wasn't sarcasm, btw. People made a decision. It may or may not be the right one, but it's A decision

If there's a market for children to buy it now, it seems unlikely that the market will simply disappear if it's legalized. Just sayin.Xzi said:Protecting children is a stupid excuse. Legalization would keep marijuana out of the hands of criminals, who are more likely to sell to whoever wishes to buy, including children.
That statement is true for basically everything in existence. I could replace alcohol with water, and it would still be true. Alcohol has known health benefits when used in moderation.Besides, alcohol, which can kill you the very first time you try it should you drink too much, is already legal.
I'd like to point out that while that very well could be the case here, it doesn't have to be. I think it's possible to come to the conclusion that marijuana is bad all by yourself. It's the conclusion I've come to. However:I'd be more open to ideas like yours if it wasn't so obvious that they've come from a sort of Pavlovian training over the years. They repeat to you enough, "marijuana is bad," and it works its way into your sub-conscious. The core of the idea is that you never question it; never do a little research for yourself. And it's obvious that they've got you hook line and sinker in that regard.
I don't really like the idea of mind-altering substances personally, but marijuana is harmless enough that I don't think it should be illegal. I don't think that we should legalize everything though.QuantumT said:I mean come on, I don't smoke pot, I don't even like the idea of smoking pot, and still I did more to pass it than you did. How pathetic is that?
Use your head fool, we're obviously talking about drugs such as heroin.Taxicab Samurai said:Lol have fun with no medicine.Darth_Dude said:Took the worlds right out of my mouth!FlamingForce said:Drugs should be illegal everywhere, altogether, no matter what kind it is.
Idiots.
Well aware, just making the point that explaining to kids why they're allowed to smoke pot would be a lot easier than explaining why they can smoke tobacco.QuantumT said:@Gaz only in the 20s. Could luck trying to get an ad like that printed now. Seriously though, ads from the early 1900s are ridiculous. A ton of them are blatantly racist or sexist.
Obviously. Why would we include the dangerous, addictive, experimental and LEGAL drugs.Darth_Dude said:Use your head fool, we're obviously talking about drugs such as heroin.
What if I smoke some weed, then go pick up the kids from school? I'm not in the right state of mind to drive right? I could cause an accident. Now what if everyone was like that?Mortagog said:All the things that you enjoy doing without harming others should be illegal everywhere, altogether, no matter what it is.Darth_Dude said:Took the worlds right out of my mouth!FlamingForce said:Drugs should be illegal everywhere, altogether, no matter what kind it is.
Ranooth said:Ok well done, from your data it looks like a miracle cure for the whole world but that doesn't change the fact thats it illegal.
It's illegal because it's a 'miracle cure'. [http://www.drugwarrant.com/articles/why-is-marijuana-illegal/]
Some people (and i only hope its a handful) well debate until the comes come home that cannibilsm and murder are ok, they may even present evidenence
I really, seriously hope you're trolling. Because comparing smoking a plant to eating someone is just fucking retarded and you know it.
No but more people using weed equals more irresponsible jackasses.Xzi said:What ifs are pointless. What if I get drunk off my ass then go pick up the kids from school? That has nothing to do with the substance I just used, and a lot more to do with the fact that I'm clearly an irresponsible jackass who probably was never ready to have children in the first place. Legalizing weed would have no effect on how many irresponsible jackasses there are in the world.Darth_Dude said:What if I smoke some weed, then go pick up the kids from school?
