I much prefer PNG (Portable Network Graphics) to JPGs. The only thing that sucks is that Internet Explorer can't show them perfectly. I know some image experts prefer TGA, but what I hate is that Windows Explorer can't show them.

I just don't like the look of the game, and that's what matters to me. I can't stand yet another game with a group of "street rebels" fighting against the man (which in this case is the Grim Reaper) with J-POP blaring in the background. Not to mention the story of dying and suddenly not dying and all that just doesn't appeal to me, and it's downright confusing to me.

So please just let it go. You're not convincing me. The gameplay may be different someplaces, but it's still not fun to me.

And I've said fifty times it's just my opinion. I feel like it's similar. If you don't like it, too bad. You can't change my opinion. You can disagree, but you can't change my opinion.

No, you are blind because you see Call of Duty in Fallout 3.

Also, the only people "bashing" you are me and the other guy, because of your plain and simple ignorance.

Combat: Turns in FF, real-time in TWEWY.
Equipment: You need REALLY good equipment to get far in FF, you don't need basically ANY equipment in TWEWY, it just adds some boosts most of the people won't notice. I noticed them in 1/3 of the game.
Skills, abilities, choosing them: Attack/Magic/Item in FF, standard like in almost any jRPG, and pins in TWEWY activated by scratching/drawing circles/pointing at enemies or empty spots. Also dual-screen gameplay where you must also watch out for your partner's health or even control him (although AI is pretty good and usually doesn't need help).
Teammates: Several in FF, one at a time in TWEWY.


Care to tell me what's even SLIGHTLY similar between FF and TWETY, or do you admit you are a liar and/or ignorant? Don't mention "characters", because I don't remember there being rappers/hip-hop styled enemies (or punk, in some cases) in FF or a jerk for a protagonist.

TWEWY is 'like' FF only in that Tetsuya Nomura designed the characters.

It's like saying that Vagrant Story is 'like' Final Fantasy XII (the same parallel can be drawn here, except that it wasn't Nomura in this case).

ON TOPIC

I'd go for the DS. There's a nice selection of SRPGs, if that's your bag, plus a good deal of traditional ones. If you don't feel like reading my list, get Suikoden Tierkreis right now. It's amazing.

Spoiler: List of great DS RPGs, off the top of my head...

- FF Crystal Chronicles RoF & EoT
- Soma Bringer (personal favourite of mine)
- DQM Joker

- Disgaea (less voice acting but more features than the PSP version)
- Rune Factory (Harvest Moon with combat, no bugs and tons of features)
- Chrono Trigger (great port with a whole extra dungeon)
- Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume
- Rondo of Swords (Fire-Emblem-esque SRPG with a huge emphasis on strategy and a unique attacking system)

It's a toss up. Honestly it seems the PSP has better action RPGs as it's a more powerful system and the DS has better regular RPGs. I have both systems.

In general the DS simply has more material, it has things like "The World Ends With You", "Etrian Odyssey", "Valkyrie Profile: Covenant Of The Plume","Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Fronteir" several differant Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games, and others.

The PSP on the other hand has things like the "Monster Hunter: Freedom" series which is sort of in a league of it's own. It also has "Crisis Core", "D&D Tactics", "Valhalla Knights", "Disgaea" and a personal favorite "Class Of Heroes".

I guess it depends on what you want, both have strong RPG line ups. You should do some research on the respective games.

Right now I give the DS the edge simply because of "Devil Survivor" which is my slowly being played "on the go" game. It's a Strategy JRPG in the Shin Megami Tensei "universe".

Tastes however vary greatly needless to say.


Of course then there is Pokemon which so far has remained a Nintendo exclusive, and all comments and criticisms aside it's probably the best selling RPG series of all time. I was looking at a wikipedia list of the most commercially successful games out there at one point and I was kind of shocked at how many Pokemon titles made the list.
