After some random clicking on Wikipedia I came across the Timesplitters series. One of my favourite games of all time. Then I saw that 4 is in development at Crytek UK, Crytek being the makers of Crysis. You know, the game that required 70812-core CPUs to play?(Source not confirmed.)

So lets forget that Wiki can be edited by anyone and that its not the most reliable source. Do you think Crytek are the right people for Timesplitters 4? Do you think this will require 9000 graphics cards to run (assuming it will use CryEngine 3)? Any tips for the devs to not screw up the series?

Crytek UK is the new version of Free Radical i.e. the original creators of Timesplitters. But yes, it is good news and they will pull it off.

In my opinion, I think that they should keep the controls, weapons, and time theme, and revamp the graphics (not to a melt your face off high quality level), and make a good story. God knows how many times I've prayed for a 4th Timesplitters.

Probably not. Crytek's area of expertise is the open world style FPS; keeping them away from their precious sandboxes would be like keeping Hideo Kojima from his crazy storylines, or Suda51 from his acid.

Nah, a better fit would be a company who's used to linear FPS games, like Bungie or Epic.

I just hope its better than 3...

Being on PC would be an epic bonus, but doubt itll happen.

And yes I'm assuming it will be on PC because Crytek love to show off on the PC.

Free Radical was about to go bankrupt, Crytek bought them and re-labeled them Crytek UK. So it's still the same people (although I heard some of the people at FR jumped ship prior to the purchase).

Crytek UK used to be Free Radical, Crytek just bought the company and changed the name, but kept all the origional staff. And the requirments will be fine, Crytek was smart enough to pick up the company, probably because of timesplitters, so they may just let the devs do their thing.

But thats if their smart, and most companies aren't.

Still, fingers crossed, its still being developed by the origional staff, so it shouldn't suck.

Yes but the original staff expressed a desire to use a "shiny, new engine" so...CryEngine 3 anyone?

TS4 would be awesome... Ninjamonkeys!
I'd much rather prefer SWBF3(I think free radical did some work on it.)

(If you don't know which one.. You REALLY need to play Timesplitters.)

There was a Timesplitters 1, 2, and 3?

Um.. I've never played any of them, but this thread has peaked my interest.

Off! To the Google mobile!

I wonder what cortez is up to this time, after all he destroyed the time splitters for good in TS3, maybe its a prequel, if it is i'm hoping for more backstory on Corpral Hart.
