So, Spider-Man 4 is official, Thoughts? Concerns? Rants?

Now that both Raimi and Maguire have signed for Spider-Man 4, making it as good as in pre-production. So since this is basically happening, what do The Escapists think?

What Villains should they use?

How can they make it better than Spider-Man 3 (not hard really)?

Should this movie even be made?

Thoughts?

Oh, just remembered... Doesn't Spideys powers start freaking out in 3? If so, the fourth could be the story arch where he begins mutating further.

Still haven't seen the 3rd film, but they should throw in all the cartoon villains: That scorpion thing, Mysterio, Chameleon, that doctor who transforms into a lizard and that yellow guy who shoots beams from his hands. And Wolverine.

Just to kill the Spiderman films once and for all.

2 was the good one remember, awesome story, great fights and a perfect Doc Oc.

Besides, Spiderman has a million and a half villains that could all work really well.

Kraven, The Vulture, Scorpion, Mysterio, Black Cat, The Beetle, Rhino, Hydro.. there are many, many of them.

A great one would be The Lizard, since Doctor Conners is already set up, they just need to turn him into a Super Villain now.

That was his powers freaking out from self-doubt, not mutation. Still, man-spider vs the croc would be nice.

Carnage should be the bad guy. They already have that Astronaut guy who was with Mary Jane, and he has a grudge. Besides that, they have Reptile set up, but maybe they should do something crazier.

Careful now, anything is possible in the backwords land of Hollywood.

HobGoblin is a possibility, The Lizard would be killer as they already introduced him before he became The Lizard. I can see them going for Carnage though, like having some of the symbyote sneak off or something like that.

Nothing says it's gonna be bad. It's probably not going to be a new Dark Knight, but colorful villains and acrobatics always work as far as killing a boring evening.

Spiderman really has a whole garage full of villains to choose from. I'm really hoping they throw in the Scorpion, always thought he was cool ^^ Though the logical step would probably be the Lizard

Concerning Spiderman, I don´t mind them making a new movie - I basically like the franchise and yes, it´s definitly not hard to make it better than the third.
I suggest: Just let him be happily married to Mary Jane and maybe they make a phone call in the middle of the movie, but other than that leave her out. No more relationship-drama-bullshit. Also, Venom and that reptilian doctor as villains. That sand guy from the last movie was really boring. Oh yes and Carnage! I think he´s awesome (I have basically no knowledge about the comics but he looks delicious)

The only good Pirates of the Caribbean was the first one...It came to the silver screen unexpected and everyone enjoyed it for what it was. A fun pirate movie with fun characters. Unlike Dead Mans Chest and the third one which were only made to make more money and exploit Deep's character...

Also dont stuff SM4 with a bunch of villians...SM3 had Venom, Sandman and the new Green Goblin plus Spidey symbiose suit...it was to much...also its knowed that Sami Raimi doesnt like that much Venom(which is one of the most important Spiderman villians, and in the movie it got almost no screen time) so I doubt he will appear again. And if Sami doesnt like Venom I doubt he likes Carnage, which is just a crazier version of Venom. So my bet is the reptilian doctor.

I hate Carnage, too much of Todd McFarlanes fuck headed "XTREME!!!!!!!!"ness in that character.

I prefer the villains that, had circumstances been different, could have been heroes. They're a lot more interesting than "XTREME BADASSES" like Venom and Carnage.

First of all, only have one villain, please. I would probably have been fine with just Sandman as a villain, due to him being sympathetic and a decent challenge for Spidey. The villain should probably be The Lizard, though I also wouldn't mind seeing Shocker or The Vulture instead. And please, leave the relationship alone. That was a major problem with SM3. They had the relationship perfectly set up and the end of SM2, but they just had to ruin it to create drama. There's no need for that.

I just want to know what role Bruce Campbell will be playing, because he's f'ing ace.
I would also like to see Raimi return to his roots and use use superpowers of incoherence for good rather than evil, see for contrast Army of Darkness.

I'm really not sure what to say about more Pirates movies; although I don't slag off the second two like some people I'd be lying if I said they weren't overplotted to the point of inducing an aneurysm.
