So fir all of us Turtle fans, how do you think they are going to screw this up?
or on the off chance how could it be be ok? (We're not looking at awesome, although even Michael Bay probably has another "The Rock" quality film in him somewhere).
This is what we know so far as far as we know:
Megan Fox is back in a Michal Bay film, so apparently they are on friendlier terms. Depending on how you like her as an actress will depend on your view of her. Some of her work includes Lois Lane in Robot Chicken; Transformers, and Confessions of a Teenage Dramma Queen
Raphiel will be played by Alen Ritchson, who voiced Aquaman for a few seconds at the end of Justice League: Unlimited; was in Blue Mountain State; and was Aquaman again in Smallville.
Michelangelo will be done by Noel Fisher, best known for roles in Hatfeilds and McCoys; Battle: Los Angelese; and the voice of Toad in X-Men: Evolution.
The one I am worrired about is Johny Knoxville as Leonardo. Yes, the traditionaly level headed leader of the brothers will be played by a guy from Jackass, The Ringer, and The Dukes of Hazard. On one hand I want to give him a chance as voice work is difference from live action so you can have people do all kinds of stuff (see Steve Blume and Crispin Freeman for Detailes), and Michale Creaton and Heath Ledger had the same aversion when they were casted in their roles by the public. On the other hand...oh this is a bad sign.
Donatello will be done by Jeremy Howard, who was in Hotel For Dogs, Breaking Bad, and Accepted.
Tony Shalhoub will be Splinter, and he has been in shows and films like Monk, Was the voice of Luigie in Cars, and Jeebs in the Men in Black films.
Shredder will be played by William Fitchner, who was a voice in one of the Turok games; Had a part in the Lone Ranger; and was in Entourage.
Kari will be played by Minae Noji, who has done alot of voice in Marvel Heros, Was in General Hospital, and Saints Row: The Third
My Thoughts on how it will be ok:
1. Don't Screw up the characters. This is not a franchise that is best beloved for dark and gritty and even then there are a lots of humor to go around (its a soty about ninjas that happended to be mutants adn teenagers...I don't think Christapher Noland could be make that dark and edgy).
2. Since the big fear will be this is another destiny story, how about Shredder tried to creat his own super soldiers (the Foot Clan), but a byproduct or an early form of it got anidentaly spilled down the drain or a car accident breaks the ooze free while in transit and it lands on some baby turtles and maybe either a martial artist on the run or the pet rat of said martial artists. The core team will still be a mistake, and thus turning this plot point on its head.
How likly this film is going to do something like that: Considering I am still trying to blot out the Memory of Transformers 2, no not that likely.
And I am worried about Leo being voiced by someone that gets repeatedly kicked in the balls on TV (literally).
