So fir all of us Turtle fans, how do you think they are going to screw this up?

or on the off chance how could it be be ok? (We're not looking at awesome, although even Michael Bay probably has another "The Rock" quality film in him somewhere).

This is what we know so far as far as we know:

Megan Fox is back in a Michal Bay film, so apparently they are on friendlier terms. Depending on how you like her as an actress will depend on your view of her. Some of her work includes Lois Lane in Robot Chicken; Transformers, and Confessions of a Teenage Dramma Queen

Raphiel will be played by Alen Ritchson, who voiced Aquaman for a few seconds at the end of Justice League: Unlimited; was in Blue Mountain State; and was Aquaman again in Smallville.

Michelangelo will be done by Noel Fisher, best known for roles in Hatfeilds and McCoys; Battle: Los Angelese; and the voice of Toad in X-Men: Evolution.

The one I am worrired about is Johny Knoxville as Leonardo. Yes, the traditionaly level headed leader of the brothers will be played by a guy from Jackass, The Ringer, and The Dukes of Hazard. On one hand I want to give him a chance as voice work is difference from live action so you can have people do all kinds of stuff (see Steve Blume and Crispin Freeman for Detailes), and Michale Creaton and Heath Ledger had the same aversion when they were casted in their roles by the public. On the other hand...oh this is a bad sign.

Donatello will be done by Jeremy Howard, who was in Hotel For Dogs, Breaking Bad, and Accepted.

Tony Shalhoub will be Splinter, and he has been in shows and films like Monk, Was the voice of Luigie in Cars, and Jeebs in the Men in Black films.

Shredder will be played by William Fitchner, who was a voice in one of the Turok games; Had a part in the Lone Ranger; and was in Entourage.

Kari will be played by Minae Noji, who has done alot of voice in Marvel Heros, Was in General Hospital, and Saints Row: The Third

My Thoughts on how it will be ok:

1. Don't Screw up the characters. This is not a franchise that is best beloved for dark and gritty and even then there are a lots of humor to go around (its a soty about ninjas that happended to be mutants adn teenagers...I don't think Christapher Noland could be make that dark and edgy).

2. Since the big fear will be this is another destiny story, how about Shredder tried to creat his own super soldiers (the Foot Clan), but a byproduct or an early form of it got anidentaly spilled down the drain or a car accident breaks the ooze free while in transit and it lands on some baby turtles and maybe either a martial artist on the run or the pet rat of said martial artists. The core team will still be a mistake, and thus turning this plot point on its head.

How likly this film is going to do something like that: Considering I am still trying to blot out the Memory of Transformers 2, no not that likely.

And I am worried about Leo being voiced by someone that gets repeatedly kicked in the balls on TV (literally).

The turtles aren't exactly complex characters, Johnny Knoxville can voice all four of them for all I care.

William Fitchner is a great character actor and has been in a ton of stuff. I'm not really big on the casting decision for Shredder. However, the man can make the craziest lines sound legitimate.
I'm going to take the Peter Laird angle and wait and see if it truly turns into a train wreck, or not.

William Fichtner has been way better stuff than some of the examples you have chosen and is a very good actor, its weird you pick turok out of all thing he has done

as far as the move i have not reason to believe it will be any good at all, some of the action might be good but considering how bad the last two transformer have been i dont have high hope, but hey it might be great you never now for sure until it comes our.

These forums really need to cut the whole "oooh dark and gritty" and "RUINED MY CHILDHOOD" bullshit. We've got enough pathetic shit infecting these forums lately, we don't need any more.
Most of this I'm sure comes from teenage hipsters who saw maybe one or two episodes and possibly saw 5 minutes of the movie while at their cousins house one time and decide to hate it because it's too mainstream, and they "hated it before hating it became popular".

If you're going to hate a Michael Bay film, hate it for reasons other than the fact he's reviving a franchise to sell it to a new generation that's too angsty to watch the older media. Like how all of his movies are nearly 3 fucking hours long. Or that he likes to throw in his trademark style of insultingly stupid, juvenile, condescending "comedy" in an attempt to break up those "boring" parts between action sequences where things like characterization should be happening. Or maybe that he can't ever lock the fucking camera down and shoot in a master instead of making everything look like a music video.

Eh. I don't care. As a long time Turtle fan, the new IDW comic series is where it's at for high quality TMNT. I've no interest in watching Teenage Mutant Bayformers.

Honestly, I like to think she's his illegitimate lovechild or something. ...And her secret mother? An explosion. Because We all know Bay loves them. XD

Honestly, though, I refuse to hype myself for it at all. It COULD be good. But it's way more likely to be horrible.

Action's probably gonna be semi decent, but I have no hope that the story will be anything better than lame. Micheal bay is one of the last people I'd trust with the Turtles.

Yeah I thought the same... off the top of my head, the guy's been in Heat, Armageddon, Black Hawk Down, Crash, Equilibrium, Ultraviolet, Pearl Harbor, The Perfect Storm, Prison Break, Blades of Glory, The Dark Knight, Elysium and GTA Vice City if you really want to cite a videogame example.

I assume that they wanted the story to be more modern but I don't see why they chose Fichtner for Shredder. Oroku Saki could still be a business man if they wanted.

I don't care. I don't own the turtles or have any financial stake in how well the movie performs. Yes, I like TMNT but if they create a show or movie that I don't like, I just ignore it. Like I ignore the Nick show.

None flammable lubricant.

The character I have the highest hope for is splinter as his actor does tend to do a really good job of his characters weather its serious (The Seige) or slightly goofy (Monk) and I think a mix of the two would work for Splinter.

I really just wanna know why he keeps being picked for this stuff. Who gives Bay the Green light for remaking old kids properties, of all people?
