Yes, i know you're probably really sick of rapture threads but i``m just curious in how many people believe this. And if you do or not, do you think you'll/you'd be raptured.
Cause i can say quite say no quite confidently to each of those questions...

So, what do you guys/girls think?

I think this is incredibly silly, the world will not end, and alot of people will end up making a massive ass of themselves. That is my opinion of this rapture bullshit that one select group of people have concluded is true. Also, it clearly says in the bible that there's no way of knowing when the rapture will happen!

No. Revelation was written as an allegorical book about the Roman empire. Because of how intentionally vague it was, it can be easily applied to anything. Therefore, ever since it was written, people assumed that it was referring to events occurring in their lifetimes.

The real question is why you would make another thread with the concession that you know it's been done to death. As if that somehow absolves you from having to make a meaningful post.

Like I said in that other thread, there has been SO MANY "Judgement Day" predictions in the the past 2-3 decades.
I don't know why people believe this stuff.

No, I don't. Every generic would-be prophet throughout history has tried to put a date on Doomsday. This one's already tried a few times.

And no, I wouldn't: I'm sure deists don't count as Generic Would-Be Prophet #9999's definition of "Christian."

Again: "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." Matthew 24:36

Read the Bible you crazy Bible people! It shouldn't be up to us atheists to point this crap out.

To be honest, I thought I did, but I actually don't. And yet I still felt scared for some reason...

I don't know why...

Could something be wrong with me?

I feel sorry for all the people who threw their life away believing this.

But also, I get the feeling that a lot of people who were saying it was going to happen (especially that one guy who made the "calculations") will be all "we saved the world by repenting! We loyal Christians made God decide to spare us all!"

This kind of thing saddens me because people end up characterising christians as all being stupid and not having their own opinions.
"Silly christians thinking herp and derp" etc

We've survived that many predicted armageddons I'm surprised these kinds of things still fly. I can almost imagine God standing there with an ACME crate full of Doomsdays just throwing them all down to see if any of them work.

Apparently, the same guy who predicted tomorrow also predicted one in 1994 and yet here we are today...

Honestly, I kind of hope it happens just so these predictions will stop. But then i'd be dead... Kiff, we have a conundrum!

It wouldn't matter. Anyone who would enjoy the idea of being saved while those who were never taught the "good word," probably through no choice of their own, suffer in agony, would not be found worthy of being saved in the first place. It's a catch-22.

Doesn't the bible even say that man cannot predict Judgement day?

Knew it...

But anyway, the world can't end tomorow! I just had a really good conversation with this girl I like today! NO ONE WILL TAKE AWAY MY CHANCES!
