Maybe they are just trying to prolong our existence. It seems that some doomsayer somewhere in the world has marked every day as the end. Maybe if we forget to mark a day down and no man expects that day to be the end... BOOM! The rapture will happen!

Well, never is an overstatement.
The sun *will* go supernova etc. many bilions of years from now.
But indeed, it seems highly unlikely to me that an Apocalypse is just around the corner.

Anyways, it's YET ANOTHER prediction of the world's end, only this one is stupider than most.

I mean, a 14.0 quake in Taiwan? Geologists can predict things of that magnitude, you know. And unless Taiwan is literally arching out of the ocean right now, there's not gonna be a quake that big. To say so is to completely misunderstand elementary geology.
