"News just in! Apocalyse today! Stay tuned for another tomorrow!"

They're not even giving themselves time to come up with their bullshit evidence anymore. They're just playing roulette with a calendar.

Never going to happen, these predictions will never be true. If there is an earthquake it would either be one of those "broken clock accurate twice a day" sort of scenarios- or it would be that the so-called prophet is actually doing research and collaborating with geologists or seismologists, without telling you, to make their predictions look more and more valid. Charlatans looking for attention, the lot of them.

Will always state that they were wrong or need to 're-calculate' just like this guy from FamilyRadio is going to announce on May 22nd
This. It is the same thing with astronomy, if you guess often enough you will be right on occassion, but that hardly proves you psychic.

Now I never trust that doomsday stuff anyway.

But do you really expect somebody named penis to be completely sane?

It's probably already been said by someone here, but... "The world is always ending for someone, somewhere."

You shouldn't believe that astrological bullcrap unless there is actually a meteor the size of Saudi Arabia approaching. Honestly, if there is a god then he has to be a sadistic god with a well-developed taste for irony. Thousands of people panicking across the planet, am I the only person who thinks that the ironic truth will be that the world is never going to end?
Well, never is an overstatement.
The sun *will* go supernova etc. many bilions of years from now.
But indeed, it seems highly unlikely to me that an Apocalypse is just around the corner.
If we end up in the same Afterlife and can look back on the Earth for the rest of Eternity and that sun doesn't go supernova for several thousand years... Well, you can expect a forever full of "I told you so"
Phew, thank Goodness there is no afterlife.
So I'll go to Hell for not believing in Heaven, and if I see you there "I told you so" probably will be the least of my problems ;-)

So..... we're still here....

Doesn't that prove all doomsday fanatics wrong?
Unfortunately doomsday fanatics will always be saying the world will end. They'll just change the date every time it doesn't end.

I remember when this came upon the news about a month ago!

I remember, in that same program that some old fart spent all of his fortune to create a cartoon, that would be translated into every language, to explain to children that the world was ending.

I could not stop fucking laughing!

When I'm old, dying, and wheelchair-bound and everybody wants me to shut up and die, I can respond with:

"I've survived the end of the world 3 times, Sonny. You can't get rid of me that easily!"

You know? It WAS the end of the world, and the beginning of a new one. It did so every second of the day with the very TICK of the universe, instant by instant.

(Readers of Discworld novels should now be laughing their asses off.)
