Yea unfortunely that's happened to me twice. Though it was knly serious the second time it happened. The first tine was a car sliding and hitting me from the ice. I didn't blame him and I was alright so no big deal.

The second time a driver failed to signal and just came into the road and hit me- bruised my ribs and was taken to the hospital. The only good thing about lots of people seeing it was it helped me when mh family pressed charges and he had to pay for the medical bill. Besides that it a terrible and painful experience which I don't wish on anyone.

I hope the guy is ok though

Dickhead drivers. See them all the time. I remember I was driving into Glasgow one time down a dual carriageway, this van was tearing down the lane to enter it, behind a car, the driver looking for a good time to merge. The guy driving the van couldn't give two shits, nearly crashed into the back of it (trying to merge too late). As it turned out everything was ok, just, but I could've kicked that guys fucking head in. Seriously. He nearly caused a very serious accident. Prick.

My mom always told me this story to remind me not to tail certain flatbed trucks:

Apparently, she was driving into the city to go to work, and was following behind this truck that was coming from the steel plant. On the back, a MASSIVE roll of sheet-steel, coiled around itself and tied off. Well, one of the ties came loose, and the coil acted like any other giant metal spring would in that situation: it sprung. The steel coil practically shot out onto the highway, tearing up the asphalt. The force of impact was, thankfully, enough to cause it to shift to my mom's right, veering off the road and a few feet from her car, before continuing to plow through buildings, parked vehicles, etc.

I guess it was pretty shocking for her.

Ahh, not nice.

When I was back at school a few years ago, two kids got off the bus, didn't look across the road, and met a van coming the other way. They were fairly OK, as one went right under and the other just got knocked down, but it was still pretty nasty.

The thudding noise it made was the worst. You could hear it inside the bus.

Poor cyslist!
He has to realise that even with reflective jackets and lights, pedestrians and cyclists are very hard to see at night. Never think that the car driver has seen you and never take risks at night and you will be ok.
At night, a pedestrian is really only visible to the car driver when he is in the cone of light from the car lights. And that is very close to the front of the car when it is going 30mph

This is why people should not be allowed to drive on our roads. Bikes for life!

My dad saw a guy on a motorcycle get run over. He was sent flying and I believe he might have broken his neck... My dad got over it eventually, but it's still a pretty dramatic experience.

Nobody get hurt luckily, even the dog managed to run under 2 buses and be fine.

I almost got hit by an eighteen wheeler once.
My younger brother (5 at the time) ball went across the street so being the noble brother that I am, went to go get it. As a safety kid, I looked both ways, nothing. Ran across, looked again, Saw the truck coming, but it was on the other side, I get halfway across when I realized I misjudged its speed. Scariest moment when I was 10.

I saw someone get hit by a bus a few months ago. I was walking back from work and the guy just obviously didn't look where he was going. You know it amazed me... I didn't know a human body held that much blood.
