I will officially be one-quarter of a century old. As the years progressed by, I started caring less and less about Christmas more and more each year. I don't hate it or anything, but sharing your birthday with everyone's favorite holiday makes it feel just a little less special. Since it's the season of giving, I never got to bask in the greedy receiving end of a birthday. Then again, I started to care less and less about that sort of thing as I got older and I really started to enjoy sharing gifts with the people I love.

Has anyone ever known someone with a birthday on Christmas? How do they feel about it?

For added discussion value, what the hell are you getting me for my birthday?

I have a friend who has his birthday on the 24th of December, but I am not sure how it effects him. I would just expect it to be a longer gap between celebrations and stuff.

Not on Christmas but my sister´s b-day is on the 27th, 3 days after x-mas, she´s only 9 and so far she likes it... I think

And what kind of b-day present would it be if I told you today? Shame on you!

I've got a cousin who's birthday is on Christmas. I assume it's the reason he's into drugs and presumably in jail and/or dead.

All kidding aside, (My fake imaginary cousin too.) My girlfriends birthday is tomorrow as well. And she freaking hates it. I'm not sure which is more upsetting to her the fact that it's Christmas on a day she should be the center of attention, or if it's because her gifts are often tied together a Birthmas gift.

Either way I learned a while back it's important to buy two gifts and label each one for the respective occasion.

I think the people who have their birthdays in the middle of the year have it best. Even if it's just for the ability to twice a year guilt spend on yourself claiming it's a birthday/christmas gift for you.

My Birthday was 8 days ago, it's far away enough for a double-present sort of deal. Although to make it up to you I'm using the power vested in me by me to rename Christmas Day (25th Dec) 'Snake Plissken's Birthday!"

My cousin's birthday is the day after Christmas. He's a little depressed by it every now and then, so I've started sending him a gift wrapped up in Happy Birthday print at random times throughout the year.

And you, OP, get an imaginary puppy named Steven. Happy Birthday!

i have a twin sister and i understand what you mean that it does kinda suck not having a day of the year where you're truly spcial it used to bother me really bad when i was younger but it's not so bad now i don't live with her... but i can sorta see how sharing it with everyone would be worse

My birthday is just before Christmas, which works out for me: I spend my birthday money on Christmas gifts for others, so no matter how broke I may be, I can still afford to get some thoughtful gifts for everyone.

I just turned 25 a few days ago...it's not as bad as it seems.

I am 20 in a couple of weeks.
It makes me scared. I want to stay a teenager :(

OT: My Mum's birthday was yesterday (24th at time of writing) which means she gets gifts 2 days in a row. Damn her xD

"Giving you a yummy Dark Forest cake, the one from Portal." :D
"Then again cake mail sucks so I guess nothing except my thank you for you still being alive thing." :/

My birthday's the 14th, so it's just far away enough that I get presents then and afterwards at christmas.

Could've been on the 25th though, I was born 5 weeks early. Guess I just wanted as many christmases as possible.

My birthday is the 24th of December. For those that wonder, it has been a mixed blessing.

As a child I was mostly concerned with the quantity of toys I received. With both major gift giving occasions a mere day apart, most relatives chose to give me a combined present of somewhat greater value than any individual event would generally allow. As I got older, this trend was actually kind of nice as I could actually appreciate a handful of elaborate presents. These days, I really only look forward to the food and family bits. At my point in life, I already have anything I could reasonably expect to receive as a gift.

My mom has a birthday pretty close to Christmas. She hates it.

I'm very lucky that mine is in June.

Anyways, I got you a pair of socks. Itchy socks.

My friend Kristen and my cousin Kelly both celebrate their birthdays today, and they both hate the fact that they're born on Christmas.

Kristen, to me, upon finding out my birthday's in July: "Fuck you. You actually get presents twice a year."
