Well if the sidebar on the right is sorted by number of views then maybe she eclipsed extra credits because this same episode has been up for almost a month without being updated due to legal reasons that lisa foiles was not able to discuss publically according to some thing i saw posted by her on another website.

Again, you have made assumptions and then got annoyed over what is only speculation, there is no guarantee that what you're saying is right.

I for one prefer Top 5 to Extra Credits as it's not constantly preaching at me and it's fairly enjoyable to listen to/watch

Top 5 isn't ABOUT philosophy, if intellectual debate is the only thing that entertains you so be it, but you could probably stand to learn something from it.

Thanks Moose. To be honest I watched one Top 5 and I just didn't enjoy it. Extra Credits on the other hand has made me reconsider how I do my job (I'm an English teacher in Japan). So many times that show has given me discussion starters to share with my friends that have waned into sleepy ramblings. Top 5 seems to just be selling sex appeal. To be fair I've only watched it once. Are there any Top 5 episodes that come close to the philosophical debates that arise from Narrative Mechanics? Top 5 is not where you go for philosophical debate. Not even close. It's just meant to be a silly fun little show. Personally when it first came on I was dubious about its quality, since for the first couple episodes she appeared to be a ditz with too much makeup and needlessly bleached hair. Then she started putting more nerdly references in it (the one that got me hooked was when she used the "sad music" from Scrubs in an episode), toned down the makeup, did some not-fashion-related stuff, and became much easier to watch. In short: not simply sex appeal, but not the mind-blowing of Extra Credits.

It could also be where there are no new eps, people keep clicking the last available ep in order to get to the comments in order to ask "Wheres Lisa" which has been going on for the last month. In turn shooting up the view/post count and making it look more popular.

Easy fix for this... Get a new video, Tomorrow!

Yeah, I'd say Top 5 and Extra Credits have about the same amount of brains in execution, if not in concept.

And at least Top 5 is not pretending to be super-ingsightful.

Can you elaborate please? I've never seen any criticism for EC and for the most part their videos are noninflammatory in that they just get people to think as opposed to taking one side hardcore like ZP does.

It all comes down to taste, some people like insight others like titties, and I can personally confirm that there is at least one person who likes both.

Personally I much prefer the legendary 'insightful titties', without a doubt one of the greatest miracles of nature. First they're just all up in your face, like good ones should be then BAM, philosophical question, makes you ponder existence whilst still maintaining the awesomeness that is boobs.
