So uhh, is there just no moderation around here anymore?

Maybe the moderators believe in moderation in all things, so they're giving it a rest for a bit.

Let's just enjoy this post-apocalyptic wasteland for what it is. Everyone stocked up on empty bottles and questionable fashion choices, right?

There's at least one, and he's sorry.

Forum should be legible. I'll tackle the rest tomorrow.

Eh, moderation here has always been hit or miss, but then that's modding for you.

People have been saying "this site is about to die" for ages, but someday they'll be right.
I know we are all as dust before the wind, and this site will meet it's maker at some point, I'd prefer the inevitable to be delayed as long as possible. For all its flaws, I'm quite fond of this place and really can't think of anywhere else gaming-related I'd engage with.
Most people say that for most things in life. Thats how complacency happens. Be it at work, hone or the internet. You will never know until it happens, maybe if the site dies you will find a new "internet home".

OT: I think the whole text based forums are going to die out in general. I forsee a future where forums will be real time video chats with real people. Give it a decade or so when some intelligent university student designs it and becomes a billionaire. Kind of like how facebook came along.
You're probably right, but it doesn't exactly do anything to lift my spirits whilst forlornly searching through what's left of this site.

Gonna be honest here and say I haven't really noticed any difference. They're there. They respond when they think they're needed, whether you agree with it or don't.

I'm honestly shocked Yahtzee hasn't bailed yet.
With his recent move to the US, I'd be surprised if he isn't keeping the door open to other avenues of employment.

Well, there was a culling in R&P, pretty surprised I escaped unscathed. No moderation => People shit talking a thread to oblivion.
And thank God for that, because that thread was becoming genuinely unpleasant to read through with the amount of venomous spite on display.

Pffft, Mad Max happened in Australia, the country where everything's trying to kill you. I don't think this is the same. I mean, no hackers even.

Seriously what the hell mods, where were any of you when the spambot appear days ago?
Retired.

The Mods are busy and/or unaware of anything that isn't in the Mod queue.

You can poke them easier on the escapist IRC tbh.
