So Video Game movies, would you go see a decent one?

then it'd be full of excess swearing, pointless conversations and pop culture references. still be awesome, but it'd just have all these in it too.

Tarrentino would do wonders with a gears of war movie though, damn right.

Maybe for the dialog yeah, personally for visuals i'd prefer Ruairi Robinson. If you ain't familiar with his work, theres 2 short movies knocking around on the net you have to see. one is called 'Fifty Percent Grey' and the other is called 'The Silent City'. He's also doin the live action Akira. I reckons he could pull off the look of Gears quite well.

The only game into movie I really liked was Silent Hill, that was pretty good. Resident Evil was alright but it should have stayed a game. I think you have a point though.

If they can make good comic book movies, then surely good video game movies can't be all that elusive. The trouble is, being based on something familiar and well-liked doesn't mean that the movie has an automatic be-awesome-free card. And also, no matter what you do with the plot of the movie, you're never going to please the hardcore fans of the game, so you're better off just trying to make a good movie for everyone based on the characters.

SO I guess, the big question, if your favourite game was made into a movie, would you go see it in the cinema? or wait for a dvd release so you didn't have to be seen at the cinema going into it? Would you take non gamer friends, or go alone?

I would go see it in the theater, but such a thing will never exist.

If my favorite game got turned into a movie, I'd look up the cast and crew before I'd consider seeing it.
