So, what can you hear?

Very little as I live on a mountain in the middle of nowhere.
So other than the faint hum of my laptop all is silent.

The rain...

I love listening to the rain...

The freeway outside my window is pretty loud; I wish I was on a higher floor. I occasionally hear my roommates going in and out as they shuffle through all the tedious security locks you have to get through to get outside. And the obvious miscellaneous noises of my lap top.

I can hear the drumming of rain on the window, over the top of the wind blowing through the leaves of the trees, I can hear my girflriend's breathing as she lies next to me, asleep while I steal her laptop and go on the escapist.
I can hear the occasional car drive past, though what cars are doing driving past my house at this hour I don't know. I can hear the hum of the laptop, I can hear the creak of the bed as I shift my weight to get more comfortable.

And you know what the call all of these sounds put together?
Silence.

The hum of a roomful of computers. Wow, just realised how completely silent this place is. I can hear someone walking. And in the distance, some students. But that's about it. This is probably the least populated area of the school.

my typing. Water going through pipes, I'm guessing someone's taking a shower somewhere. Fans on the PC. Someone's walking outside, I've got the window open. That someone just got in his car, and started the engine.

I'm not allowed mine too loud as it's 'late'.

Get headphones and you can have your music as loud as you can handle.

My head phones are broken and I'm currently in the midle of nowhere which only just has internet access so getting new ones may be a problem.
