So, what did you end up buying in the Steam Sale? And, how much did you spend?

Counter-Strike: Source
Crysis
Crysis Warhead
Crysis Wars
The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition
Monkey Island 2: Special Edition
ARMA 2
ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead
ARMA 2: British Armed Forces
ARMA 2: Private Military Company
Company of Heroes
Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts
Company of Heroes: Tales of Valour
Civilization V
Sim City 4 Deluxe
Tropico 3: Special Steam Edition
Tropico 3: Absolute Power

I can't remember the exact total price or all of the individual prices, but I'm pretty sure it came to around £50. Which is an absolute bargain for that amount of games. Especially when you consider that Civ V was almost half of the price (at £22-ish).

My basic research tells me that everything you purchase via credit card or cheque is subject to repossession. All of it.
This is only because you bought it using borrowed money. If you actually pay them back (IE: Honouring the cheque or paying off the money on your CC) they can't reposess anything.

Learn2readingcomprehension.

That part of the agreement specifies STEAM. So if you download Steam, you don't own it. The games you get THROUGH Steam are another matter entirely.

That's why they say "The software". This applies to all purchases via stream.

I got Left 4 Dead 2 and Battlefield 2. But I'm angry, i wanted HL2+ep1+ep2... all together only 2.6EUR or something like that. And when i wanted to buy L4D1, the power went out in my apartment...i got it back about 20 minutes after the sale ended...made me angry.

I don't get what everyone's problem is with steam content being "leased" or whatever. You know you can run any of your games on Steam in offline mode, right? That means it's effectively yours to keep forever (minus any multiplayer that relies on steam) no matter what happens to Valve.

Anyway, I got:
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
Indie Mix Pack
Indie 2D Pack
Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3
Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 - Uprising
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale
Battlefield Bad Company 2 Standard Edition
FEAR Complete Pack (NA)
Dead Rising 2
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
Alpha Protocol
Blur

Nothing. Steam is all garbage in that it's a massive scam. Any price for a leased game is too much. Except if they priced it down to $0.01 / game...
You can just put it onto a CD.

I spent about $25. It started when I saw KotOR was $2.50 (which to those in the UK, is around 1.2 pounds, give or take), and then I saw Invisible War. I liked Deus Ex, so I bought IW. Then I bought Amnesia: Dark Descent, then Call of Cthulhu (which doesn't fucking work for some reason. It just crashes when I try to load the game!). Nothing huge, just games I had a passing interest in, and figured this'd be the best time to buy them. By far, the best purchase was KotOR.

Those of you that bought a huge number of games, how much did you save? The sales were ridiclous so I'd like to gawk at the amount of money you didn't lose. xD

I bought:
Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition
Deus Ex: Invisible War
Unreal Gold
Unreal II: The Awakening
Unreal Tournament 2004
Unreal Tournament 3: Black Edition
Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition
Mirror's Edge
Samorost 2
Machinarium

Haven't played the Deus Ex games yet but everything else was totally worth it. And for $35!!

People bitching about Steam is really tiresome. Just enjoy some good games and shut the cake up about legal ownsership.

Nothing I don't have a working debit card right now :( Have to go to the bank ASAP to "prove who I am". /Sigh

Only brought; The Witcher: Enhanced Edition for 4,99? or so. It is a great RPG only played for a few hours, but already excited for the second game!

Second game(s), which I just brought few hours ago, was the Hitman Collection Pack. The only game that wasn't in the pack was the third game, sadly. But the other games just hold up even today.. Really excited for Hitman 5, when it will eventually be released.

Zeno clash- refreshingly good game, big recommend to action game lovers (even at full price), the brawling and shooting mechanics are simple and amazingly satisfying

All I bought was the STALKER bundle. I had the original, also have Clear Sky ... but I didn't have Call of Pripyat.

Oh and a bought Blade Kitten for a friend ... I mean I loved it.

Made of win.

Should be a nice gift to them. Until they figure out I only spent 4 bucks on it.

The complete set of DooM for under a fiver. Bloody effing gorgeous as the nostalgia invoked when playing it was just perfect and just how I remembered it too from the days when it was smuggled onto the computers at high school, that along with Wolfenstein 3D.

Steam may need a client to rev up which has gnarled on me in the past but it could be a lot worse, such as being unable to start up in the first place as I've had zero issues with these very old FPS titles

I bought Super Meat Boy for £6 or so. I did quite well this holiday sale, considering last year I bought a fucking ton of games, half of which I've barely played.
