So What did you think about the Royal Wedding

I watched most of it. Not very exciting at some points, but I thought it was well handled and it actually kept my attention for the whole duration, which I doubted it would. Don't particularly understand the dislike shown by some people; it's the news organisations that are responsible for over hyping and replaying the event, just as they do every other event that's 'in' at any moment. Doesn't call for hate, in my opinion.

Oh dear, are you upset that they disrupted your daily intake of misery, destruction, death, disaster and war with a fairly pleasant and mildly upbeat event?

My heart weeps.
Considering the shows I normally watch on friday were replaced with several hours of stuff I don't care about, I'd think being kept up to speed about what is happening inside my own country is a very small thing to ask.
Especially seeing as how 6 other channels were showing the same thing.

Totally slept through it. I heard a horse escaped though, and I was glad to have an extra day off. Other than that, I couldn't care less.

I didn't watch the wedding as I couldn't care less about the marriage of figureheads. That being said, the frowning little girl does have the potential to become a meme in the following days.

Tehehehe my Grandma pointed her out while watching it, we were pissin ourselves xD

OT: I honestly thought it was quite good, i didn't think i'd enjoy it, but for a Royal Wedding there were many funny moments (the ring not fitting for a moment, then having to be force on by the looks of it xD )

I honestly don't see why people hate the Royal Family...But mehhhhhh

Who cares if they are "royal" or not. The monarchy doesn't matter anymore. Now it is just a buncha rich people whose genes are completely messed up due to inbreeding.

I was disappointed there were no assassination attempts.

Not because I wanted any harm to come to the two of them, but because a gunfight would've made it a hell of a lot more interesting. Would've made for interesting stories.

Well here's the way I see it:

The Royal family are only 'Royal' because hundreds of years ago the first king supposedly got appointed by God.

I don't beleive in God.

Therefore, I consider the current Royals to be nothing more than very lucky normal people.

That said, I don't wish any ill upon them, I just don't consider anything they do any more special than things anyone else would do...

It's tradition, British Tradition, Who are you to say that the Monarchy does not matter any more? It matters to a lot of people in this country, and it won't stop simply because you think they are inbred.

Grow up, if you don't like it, Ignore it.

Watched a bit. Was interested by the security detail. Observed that the "red stiff English guardsmen" (Proper: The Grenadier Guard) don't look as proper and officious when they're all standing at attention with SA 80s / L85a2 bullpup assult rifles.

The stumpy, compact frame and protrusive magazine and pistol grip look kinda naff for official occasions with history of this:

TL;DR - The short modern rifles don't look quite right on these dudes ^ for ceremony.

Didn't care, didn't watch. Good for them though, I would bet though the girl is going to turn out to be a ***** for some reason.

That's why I'm saying, why do people care about it when legally it doesn't matter, all it is, is a bunch of rich people showing off, when instead they could be using their money for more useful reasons. Also, I am grown up and using my right of free speech to voice my personal opinion and try to make a point and hopefully inform the uninformed.

Good bit of Royal Wedding Drinking Game (bloody foreigners! Liar!) and Harry was a legend throughout. Really enjoyed it. Spent all day carrying around the ball flag.

I didn't really ENJOY it, but it's a part of history in the making, I'd feel like a idiot if I didn't watch it. Oh well, at least I got a PAPER CROWN!! :D

THANK GOD somebody wrote this thread. I will say without fear of being slapped in the face, that I hated the fact that everybody insisted on screening this and watching this just because it's Prince William. It's just a rich guy marrying a middle-class girl, and, like I said, if the groom was anybody else, it wouldn't have completely taken over 5 consecutive hours of TV, emptying out some legitimately entertaining programs. Somewhere in the world, sometime this millenium, someone will find the cure for cancer, but if the human race is unlucky enough to have a ROYAL WEDDING the same time as the press conference announcing it, it WILL be lost to the ages. So millions will die because the monarchy STILL hasn't been demolished, despite its complete lack of usefulness.

I didn't watch the ROYAL WEDDING. And I can't believe more than 3 billion did.
