The face seems slightly off, but otherwise it's a good portrait. Keep practicing and hopefully you'll get faces perfectly.
It's also nice to see some art which isn't annoyingly abstract. I've been to the tate modern in London and it was an interesting although slightly underwhelming experience. I remember seeing some huge sharp metallic sculpture there, and putting my mind to it i interpreted it as meaning something along the lines of the evils of machinery or modernity- or how modern technology de-humanises human beings. When i read the placard, i was surprised and disappointed to find that it actually symbolised rain.
I find the artwork in old stately homes much more impressive, i much prefer the artwork produced between circa 1500-1900. In the 20th century it all went down hill in my view.
Why don't you get artwork like this these days?
