Until 3d evolves into it's true form, it will always be a GIMMICK, just like Motion Controls. Thank you Nintendo! I was a big fan, until the Wii! C'mon Holodeck!!!

I'm OK with it, and it provides a certain sense of depth, but I don't by aby means think that it is the next big thing.

Yeah the 3d fad sucks, but it's being pushed pretty hard, so it may be here to stay. At least the Vita isn't going to use it. At least I don't think it is.

Simply put: Gimmick! Hopefully, it'll dry out in a few years, hopefully...

Why am I paying an extra five bucks at the movies (In New Zealand) to wear dark glasses that make thing in the movie seem slightly further away than they actually are, or seem slightly closer? And also, the bridge of my nose hurts from shitty glasses with no bridge support.

Fuck 3D. Until it actually makes an average movie better somehow, ic can leave me alone and actually give me back my 2D movies. Seriously....I couldn't see the last Harry Potter movie in 2D...wasn't available.

I like the idea of 3D, but not really the execution. Anything that puts us closer to a decent virtual reality is good for me, though.

Kill it with fire. If it's done right you stop noticing it after 10 minutes, if it's done wrong it just looks like shit, and in both cases it gives you a headache.

I don't think it's the future of entertainment at all, kinda like HD-DVD. It will disappear after a while. Holographic tv is where it's at!

Right now I don't think the tech is good enough to warrant this kind of hype.
I do like the idea of visually immersing the player in the game...but it's not quite there yet.
I'm waiting for the Holo-bands from Caprica:(or atleast something better than current 3d tech)

Provides Virtual Reality and neural sensory stimulation.

Why hasn't anybody done head-tracking combined with 3d yet?

I Love it, I even went out of my way to make my PC 3D ready. Every game can be turned into 3D (Even played X2 in 3D, that surprised me...) Well worth the money I paid, it feels good to have the option

I don't think it's a gimmick, althought Nintendo are advertising it as a gimmick. I think it's cool and so do lot's of other people. It's not going to die down; soon every TV will have 3D functionality. To be fair, I haven't ever watched a proper 3D movie. But I do own a 3DS; and I think it's cool. It adds depth, doesn't give me a headache, and it doesn't bother me that you have to hold it in a certain spot - It's a fricken handheld console, where else are you going to hold it.

What I love most about it though is that it's a step forward. No body should be complaining about it. You can't just go from technology point A to technology point Z, skipping everything in between. You work your way up, slowly increasing it.

3D TVs are a big thing. We're going to see a lot of improvements in television over the next... FOREVER. Adding and improving 3D means improving hardware to run it. Then you get to the point where the hardware's so good you add more shit to it. Before long your TV is a fricken super computer. I don't mind at all.

I'm indifferent to it. I don't hate 3D nor do I love it. My biggest problem is it's often half arsed. An example is the Thor movie which was only converted into 3d in post production(Like a lot of 3d films at the moment). The only bits that are in true 3D is the scenes in Asgard and Jotunheim. Which would be alright if it wasn't for the fact, the majority of the scenes take place on earth which isn't in true 3D.

If the technology is utilized correctly I find 3D to be a lot of fun. Avatar, How to Train Your Dragon, Tron: Legacy, and Transformers 3 look great in 3D. That Nic Cage movie Drive Angry was a blast in 3D (so much that it's quite dull in standard 2D). However if it's half-assed, I just refuse to go.

However at home: pointless. (Please note: I've never played any games in 3D).

It breaks immersion for me so I don't like 3D.

...I mean the stereoscopic kind, I love 3D polygon animation.
