Hmm, I don't really know enough about Sweden to have a concrete opinion. I recall something about windmills and blonde hair, but that's about it. Sorry! I'm sure it's a nice place, though.

Well, I live here, so it's really not so fair an opinion, but I like it here and would, personally, not want to live anywhere else. Not so fond of the more recent changes (privatisations of things I believe should be governed by the state, economical politics that doesn't really sit well with me in general), not saying that the past was perfect (didn't even live then :p), but would like if we took the best from both sides, not the worst. Ahh... so much like me, getting completely derailed.

On another unrelated note, when I was in London this summer at some place selling mainly sandwiches (don't recall the name) they had a recipe for Swedish meatballs that was COMPLETELY off (as far as I know, don't know what people down in the southern regions put in theirs o.o), among one thing, pork. PORK?!

Burn it.

Enslave the people.
Mechanise it.
Run it with Cyborg Monkeys and clockwork bananas.

But then again that's what i think of EVERY country.

Anyway, back to my moon base...

Sweden's good, it produces quite a few good metal bands, and, like most Scandinavian countries, is refreshingly left-leaning. Can't decide what i think of the language though.

*looks up Sweden*

Oh, actually, I do. I've wanted to stay here for a long time.

It's in Europe, and there were Vikings back in the day. Oh, and Swedes are pretty good at hockey (not as good as Canadians though).

I'm jealous, really. According to our national joke-news program, the US is turning into Sweden's Mexico.
Those poor, poor IKEA employees...

Not too hot on the blondes, though. I'm much more into Mediterranean women.

Just for fun I would like to know what others think of the country I call home: Sweden.
How does people not from Sweden view our country and the people in in? Any thoughts are welcome, be they good or bad, silly or serious.
And what's a typical sterotype for Sweden according to you?

Ah, God eftermiddag från ett väldigt regnigt Karlskrona. ;)
Sweden is cool, really is. I am not influenced by the fact that I live here.. Not one bit! Though there are some things that could be better, there could be more jobs for one thing. Unemployment truly does suck.
Hah! Från Karlskrona här med! :D
OT: Sweden is pretty damn sweet when you get down to it. Not perfect, not at all, but I currently do not have anything to complain about.

It's German and you don't understand it but I'll post it anyways.

- Sweden is Social Democracy, the best form of government.
- It's a quite cold country with not so many people, which I like as well.
- It's close to Finland and I <3 Finland.
- Scandinavian people are smart/have higher average smartness which is also why:
- Swedish people are INSANELY good at gaming. There are more Swedish pro Starcraft players than German, and Germany is 8 times the population.
- They speak English in games (LoL, Starcraft), because obviously they aren't completely rude

-> Sweden is the place everyone wants to be at, I suppose.

What I hate about Sweden:
- Norwegian Jokes
- I can't come up with more of these at the moment D:
Varför har norrmän med sig bildörrar till öknen?
För att veva ner fönstret när det blir för varmt!

Hihi :)
Edit: For the hard-of-understanding-swedish:
Why do norwegians bring car doors to the desert?
To roll down the window when it gets too hot!
Boo-ya! :-D
Norwegian: Hvorfor har Svenskene med seg stige i butikken?
Fordi prisene er så høye! :D

English:
Why does the Swedes bring a ladder to the store?
Because the prices are so high! :D

Norwegian: Hvorfor kryper Svenskene rundt på butikk-gulvet?
Fordi de ser etter lave priser.

English: Why does the Swedes crawl around on the store's floor?
They're looking for low prices.

Norwegian: Hva står i bunnen av et Svensk badebasseng?
Røyking forbudt.

English: What does the sign on the bottom of a Swedish pool say?
No smoking.

Got loads more for ye if you want it :D

I don't know a lot about Sweden compared to your Scandinavian neighbours (knew a lot of Finns and Norwegians in college, and I have Danish relatives) but Lisbeth Salander is an ultimate badass!

Hu mar Sverige? Sverige ar bra.

Jag inte forstar Svenska. Jag litte forstar Svenska och Ruskiy, ja?

Forlat.

edit: hahaha I hope google translate is wrong <_<

I learned a little Swedish from print-outs a couple of years ago and those sentences probably sounded very clumsy, sorry for butchering your language.

When I think of Sweden, I think of a good education system, metal, neutrality in war, largely secular population, forests, and eccentric blonde guys with waist length hair because of this guy on youtube.
