(to anyone older than me this is going to come off as rather stupid, I'm well aware of that)

yesterday I can somthing of a realisation

holy shit..Im going to be 20 next friday

17,18,19 are all one thing...but "20" is in a whole new league, I'll be an "adult"

but I certainly dont feel like one (or look like one...I dont care what anyone says Im not dressing like I steped out of a catalouge anytime soon)

and this got me thinking...what have I acheived so far?, what "should" I have acheived so far?

because when I look at it...not much, I couldnt confindently say I'm "good" at anything, I havnt "done" anything particually notable or really exciting, and Im not really on a path to somwhere

the only thing I can say is I have a good job, and even then I didnt really earn it, I just got it because like everything else in life Im just incredibly lucky, and if that goes...what am I left with?

buuuuuut....on the other hand I have money, I dont have debt..and I have finally realised my dream of owning a current gen systm and gaming to my hearts content and I can afford all thease GLOURIOUS games and figrunes!! (and a companion cube plushy..I have a companion cube plushy!)

so...life well lived! :p

ok discussion value, what have you achaived so far? how do you feel about it?have you ever felt this way?..and what did you do about it?[/B]

well, I got pretty sweet grades and can easily get into university in the subject I've been dreaming about learning since 3-4 years ago, but that's not really interesting...
as for my biggest achievement, I got honored both the best lineman and most inspirational teammate on my football team, which won the championship last year, so I'm pretty proud of that...

almost forgot, I can touch my nose with my tongue, so I rock!

Well, I'll be 18 on Tuesday... and I completely forgot about it until I was reminded by a friend. That's something I suppose.

Also, I played through Mass Effect 1 and 2 in one sitting, over 71 hours. That's right Mass Effect Marathon, I DID IT FIRST! I just didn't put it on the internet...

32 years old.

Happily married for 7 years (not just saying that...I am seriously happily married)

Homeowner for 6 years.

Credit score of 700+

I got the big promotion at work 5 months ago. Been at my current place of employment for 5 years. I am well-respected at work.

Don't have a ton of money, but we do fine.

I'd say I have accomplished more than the average person, not bragging...but have you SEEN the average person in the US?

I DO NOT have a Companion Cube plushy. Jealous RAGE!!

As far as some standard level of achievement is concerned I cannot think of much. I skipped sixth and seventh grade, along with high school, and yet I managed to get into a university at the age of 16 and earn a scholarship. I'll be finished with college at the age of 21 if things keep going well.

Otherwise, though, I'm not left with anything else except for personal achievements, such as playing well in a video game or winning signature competitions. I wish I could truthfully say I'm a brilliant artist or writer, or that I posses some great skill, but I don't.

I graduated from college, and I have a job. I do have debt, and I'm slowly but surely paying it off. I'm bilingual, too, which is something I always wanted to be. Also, I ran my first marathon Sunday before last, so that was exciting. But honestly, I prefer to look ahead to all the things I'd like to accomplish. Like grad school, traveling and learning more languages.

Depends what you class as an achievement I got quite good grades but decided against university to do some travelling across Europe,Japan,Australia and a a few places in Africa then decided to walk the length of the Uk on my own (self funded) which I am quite proud of.

I have also achieved a black belt status in my style of karate (hoping to go for 2nd dan soon) but I dont really count that as an achievement it is just something I love doing so I do it, whatever colour the belt is was largely irrelevant to me.

I once drank 18 pints of guinness in 3 and a half hours which didnt affect me at all (ok it did).

Currently I have decided to get off my arse give up my hated job (did at the start of the year) and do things I want to do i.e more travelling and self study which I am doing so I guess thats an achievement for me actually getting up and enjoying the day by bettering myself instead of hating the day and feeling like most of it is wasted because I have to go to work. (now I just do part time work when I need cash).

Oh and ten consecutive ranked wins in a row on street fighter 4 is my favourite xbox achievement.

I've finished school and got good enough grades from upper seconday so I got to a university without having to take the entrance exams.
I've done my time in the military, and I've moved out of my parents' place.
I also finished the first year in the uni without having to take a loan. I'll try to keep that up.
That's pretty much it. I don't really try to achieve great things, I just go with the flow and see what happens.

Oh, I did beat Contra 4 on hard without using continues. That's something, right?

I've been feeling like that since the end of non-higher education.

I have my own program released on sourceforge, and even though it's early days it looks like it's gaining momentum, so there's that. I'm halfway through a degree & have already gained an undergraduate certificate from the OU. My life is fairly balanced as I have hobbies & the time to enjoy them. Basically all I need is a job and I'm set. Life isn't necessarily about achieving lots of things, more enjoying it while it lasts.

I'm only 25, but I've realized that as you get older your goals change (sometimes forcibly) and with it your greatest achievements change. Once I would of said being one of the top players in my favorite online video game would be my greatest achievement. To be a god in your own world is awesome. But things chance, yes by the time you hit 20 you've gone through quite a bit. However, I will say its just the beginning. I crammed so much life experience between 22-25 that it was insane.

I suppose my greatest achievement would be that I married my perfect woman. True gamer, loves me to death, and truly has one of the sweetest souls in the world.

I did graduate and find a job in my field (a high ranking job too) during this economic slump. That is at the very least impressive.

I'm 15 and I've played the drums in my band in front of an audience of roughly 1500 people at the Colston Hall, and have also played with my band on the performance stage at Bristol zoo, Bristol O2 academy, and at various other pubs and gatherings.

It sounds more impressive than it is, really. We're quite good, but by no means amazing, and I've only ever played about 2 gigs where people came specifically to see our band, as apposed to the "main act" of whatever event it happened to be.

38. I've had some highs and had some lows. I'm divorced and have no children or property. My credit score is crippled and I have no pension or savings to speak of. Whilst I was doing quite well in my last job I had a run in with a new manager, had to leave and now I'm paid nearly £10000 a year less and lost my company car.

I've had a near death experience at the hands of the Tsunami in 2005 and I've been a witness to a murder.

I guess they're the crowning achievements of an otherwise drab existence.

Left school at 16 (I was the youngest in my year, everyone else was 16 I only just made it into that year by 1 month) and joined the Army.

Spent 12 years of my life in the military during which I met my wife.

Left the army and started working as a chef for about a year.

Left that and now work from home doing accounts. I work with my brother in law. I did a few courses during my army days and finished up over the year I was working as a chef. I wanted a decent well paid job and realised I couldn't stay in the military forever due to my kids wanting me home more.

I've been with my missus for 9 years and we have 5 kids and a shit load of pets.

We own our own home and are both paid incredibly well even if her hours suck monkey balls (she's a nurse).

So what have a I achieved?

More than some people ever will.

I've travelled the world and met people from all over the place. I've got a loving wife and 5 fantastic kids.

I'm financially secure for the rest of my life even if we both decided to stop working today.

We live above comfortably and we will until our dying days knowing our kids will be set.

I´m 14. I used to have something to brag about, but then I took an arrow to the knee. Meaning; The most I´ve achieved is pretty much the ability to stay up long nights and not feel sick the other morning.

I'm 22

I wrote a book, but its a piece of shit
I taught myself to play a couple instruments, but I still consider myself a poor musician
I taught myself to paint, but nothing that a 5 year old couldn't do.

All achievement has done for me is made me dissatisfied with myself. I'm sure I will try to achieve some more things which I will be disappointed in. Vicious cycle.

I'm 19, I may or may not have a scientific patent to my name in the next couple of months, depending on whether or not the person I handed the work to can actually get it to work.
