Not always but its a good bet to put money on.TheMightyAtrox said:The really artistic games come from the developers who treat them as such.

And that's a fair enough opinion. There are so many games however that make me want to play them even after I've 'beat' the game (I'ver played 3 consecutive runthroughs of Baldur's Gate as more or less the samer character for instance, making only subtle changes every time. It's like re-reading a good book, only some bits change every time. That is a great example of how games are an ever-evolving art form).Impposter said:Scribblenauts and Drawn to life 1 & 2 makes me an artist.
Seriously though, in the end, I don't care whether or not video games are art. I just want it to be good, playability-wise. I want to buy it, kill it, beat it, shoot it and defeat it. Then turn it into Gamestop for another one. Games are meant for it to be played and thats it.
I'm right now perving on that game on amazon and wishing I could afford to buy it!!bleachigo10 said:I always viewed Shadow of the Collosus as art. Aside from the obviously beautiful graphics the lack of monsters or other people created an amazing atmosphere that really resonated with the game.

Atmosphere is one of the greatest strengths of a game, its how it effects you directly. Its proberly one of the bigger parts of the games as artwork discussion along with overall style (thats more about creativity though) which is something alot of mordern games over look (im not talking about better grapthics) which really, REALLY annoys me.bleachigo10 said:I always viewed Shadow of the Collosus as art. Loved Wind Waker, it generally felt like an epic journey but somehow never got boring and that Tornado God fight was AWESOME.Get_A_Grip_ said:Limbo. Duh.
