In one sitting, a friend of mine and I played Need for Speed: Most Wanted for 48 hours straight. We were on such a sugar-induced high that we kept a single police chase going for over five hours...
Fallout: New Vegas. Played that for 8 hours just trying to find the right route to get to Jacobs-fucking-town. Then I went and did a bunch of sidequests, bitched out Obsidian when it inevitably crashed and didn't make it to JacobsTown. Levelled up 3 times though.
I don't really do long gaming session, I tend to get bored of a game even if it is totally awesome.
I'm actually ashamed to admit it, but I think it might actually be Homefront, not I might stress because of it being good, but I sat down and decided "Right, if i'm gonna put up with this shit, i'm gonna do it all in one sitting and i did. Luckily for me the single-player campaign was so short, otherwise I might not have made it.
Thinking back, It might actually be when I completed Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare's campaign in one sitting. Yeah, I'm going with that. Reflects a hell of a lot better on my gaming cred than Homefront.

My longest was playing RCT 1 back when it was first released. I think it was 7 hours. Then Half-Life 2 for 7 hours.
I have lost several weekends to games. FF VII, Spore(turned out it was only good for one weekend), various console and PC RPGs, anything where there is always that next little thing that ends up taking an hour or two. I am a completionist so if there is something to collect or a bunch of sidequests then you can count on my completing everyone of them that is possible in a playthrough since some games will have sidequests which cancel each other out.
As for true time loss, me and some friends literally played D&D through an entire extended weekend(96+ hours). When you start having acid trips without dropping acid it is time to go to bed.

I was sick from school one day and decided to play Jet Grind Radio on the Dreamcast from beginning to end in one sitting. I have no idea how long it took, but I did.
I would say around 4 hours - I usually realise when I've been playing too much on a FPS (Which is what I usually play) after around 2 hours.
Although on Rock Band 2 I completed the ultimate endurance (play every song without stopping) I think thats about a 6 hour list? Someone would have to check that.

I forgot which game it was, but I played it for 16-20 hours before my dad said it was time for bed.
I do remember an old guildie of mine in Vanilla WoW back in the day had a raiding mage and had his account banned for using a fishing bot, of all the stupid things.
He power levelled another mage to 60 for raiding purposes later on that week (back when Molten Core was the thing). I have no idea how much time he put in during those few days, but it must have been almost non-stop.

My all time record is 47 hours 21 minutes, when Final Fantasy 3 (FF6) came out way back in high school. From start to finish in one sitting. So much soda and NoDoze, one of the best/worst weekends of my life. Though in my now advanced age I doubt that I could pull that level of fanaticism.
The games I've spent the longest amount of time playing in one session would be World of Warcraft, TES: Oblivion, Final Fantasy X, Team Fortress 2, Call of Duty 3 and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. But that's just off the top of my head as I'm sure there are a few more I'm forgetting to mention.
I usually only play for about an hour, two max, but at the longest I have gotten so caught up in a game that three or four hours have passed without my notice.
