Realistically, I would love to have my own lab fully equip with an assortment of biotech equipment, a couple of grad students under me and never ending funding.

EDIT: Also I want the ethics board to disappear. :)

Well, children, I'm getting underway with my nine year plan:

Two years for my A levels, gap year, three years at university (not sure what I'll do there, possibly something with journalism) four years in the Royal Marine Commandos, then move to America, try to break into internet journalism for a site like this one. Hell, maybe I'll even apply here at the Escapist if it's still around in nine years. Once I've gotten my journalism started for some income, I'll try and become an author, as I have some nice book ideas.

My dream job would be a successful author of novels, short stories, and poetry, making enough money from it that I can just sit in my house or go out and do whatever I want. Something that takes as little physical activity as possible. On the non-dream job, I'm the kind of guy that would be comfortable just sitting in a small dank office all alone in a basement, just typing out whatever was asked of me. In a way that would also be a dream job, because that would mean minimal contact with people or random customers or something.

Other than that, being a game reviewer would also be a dream job for me.

I'm a student of Robotics at the moment so my current "dream job" involves that, preferrably working at ESA's/NASA's extraterrestrial technical department. Space probes and such.
But I really am not sure I can actually pull that off, both getting the work and finishing the Bachelor.

Secondary thing I'd love to do would be going to the UK, getting a degree in Life Science and becoming a paramedic. This again is depending on the fact that I'd need to get a full C1 licence first meaning earliest possibility is in two years and also that I am a non-native so I'd probably have to do a bit of extra testing or whatever.

I want to be a programmer. It's the only thing that I enjoy career-wise. Not too bothered what I program though.

If I wasn't diabetic, I would have joined the RAF and trained to be a helicopter pilot. Putting that aside, I'd love to become an indie flash developer. Working towards that already, just wish the learning process was quicker.

Librarian.

Now if only I could afford that fancy master's degree... until then, I'm stuck with a basic certificate, which will allow me to be a technician at most. Which isn't bad, really; I like doing technician stuff. But I do want to know everything about library operations!

Alternatively, if we give up realism for the moment: Author! Storytelling is my overwhelming life obsession, and I'd love to entertain people that way.

Hell, I could probably be both. :D

I would love to be a voice-actor, and try to bring life too something... Strangely enough though, I also want to be a history or English teacher... I am so weird!

From 16 - 17 I had my dream job, was an indy Pro-wrestler, the greatest memories but the most painful (not painful as in physical pain, it hurts to remember the lifestyle and how much I loved it) ones of my life, the hardest thing was stopping after a cardiac episode.

But with maturity comes a new outlook, right now I wouldn't change a thing, I'm a swimming coach, I cycle an hour and 20 minuutes round trip for an hour and a half class, I love coaching, I love the feeling of success I get when someone improves, I love the feeling when one of the kids wins a race or beats their best time, yeah there are lows when they don't do well, but by a wide margin are they cancelled out.

Hi fellow tech! Funny how we're all quite similar in the library business.

honestly, i have no freaking idea

for the lngest time i wanted to be a filmmaker, and i still do somewhat but there is so much more inside my head than just ideas for films. i also love writing so id love it if i ended up as an author. and lastly i also love thinking up mechanics for Video games, so if i become a game developer that would be good as well.

im just seeing where the world takes me right now, i still have a few years before i have to decide.

My dream job would be walking, just being payed to walk everywhere, just walk for hours and hours and hours then sleep and wake up and walk some more. I don't know why I love walking so much but I could do it forever.

Anything with 52 weeks holiday a year yeah I have no dream job as I have found as soon as I am made to do something I end up disliking or hating it even if I love doing it in my spare time. Also I hate using my skills for others to profit off or indeed for me to profit off.

Mobile Suit Pilot. Although I'd only do it if I were given the militaries latest Gundam otherwise I'd be dead in a second. At least that's what the shows have told me.
