(Edited to fix a couple moronic grammar errors.)

Pretty much what the title says. It's a new year and that means another batch of (probably mediocre at best :p) games to look forward to. Personally the next game I'll be picking up is Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires. I've enjoyed the DW franchise ever since I "discovered" it at DW4. What got me so hooked was that, as I'd imagine many know by now, it takes place during the 3 Kingdoms Era of Chinese history. Why did I enjoy this so much? Because I grew up playing the Romance of the Three Kingdoms strategy games when I was little. And before that, they even had a bad-ass RPG-like game called Destiny of an Emperor for the NES. It didn't get the story exactly right, but still it was an RPG with characters that I had no idea I'd be playing with to this very day.

Needless to say, I've been with the characters from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms stories for a very, very long time. That's why I enjoy the DW franchise so much. Add to it that the Empires spin-off games harken back to the strategy games that I grew up with, and BOOM! You've got a must-buy in my book. =3

So, my fellow Escapists, what's the next game you intend to pick up?

It will probably be either Endless Legend, which is a fantasy 4X game, or This War of Mine, a warzone survival sim type thing.

I'm not in any hurry though, I've got a hefty backlog to fall back on.

Sadly my poor long-suffering PC is woefully outdated and slowly falling to pieces, so I'm barred from playing newer games until I can talk myself into coughing up the substantial amount of cash for a new rig.

Having just finished Valient Hearts last week(It's like spec-ops if it were a cartoon, and slightly more optimistic), I debated between Gat out of Hell and Civ 5(playing for the first time ever).

Upon hearing that Gat out of Hell is Good but not great and kind of in the mood for Strategy/4X and not open-world sandbox(having recently finished AC IV), I picked Civ 5 and will start it tonight. It should be interesting because my previous forays into the Sid Meir-verse were: Civ 2 in the 1990's(around the time Civ 2 was the latest and greatest), Colonization(the original),SMAC and Colonization(the Civ 4 mod). So this is going to be interesting, especially considering I've somehow purchased all the DLC via steam sales without remembering it and still not actually played the game until now.

I've just recently heard of this one, and from what I've seen of it I'm pretty interested as well. Essentially Civ. but with fantasy races (and heroes from what I understand).

My first experience with Civ. wasn't even with a real Civ. I got Civ. Revolutions when it was a Games for Gold on the XBLA. Played it and got pretty damn good at it. I had been told that Civ. Rev is nothing like the real games, but I figured my skill in it would at least semi-transfer over when I picked up Civ. 5 from a Steam sale. Long story short: it didn't. :p

I have both of those on my list, but I've had Civ5(not started in my queue since forever) so I'm playing that before EL. This War of Mine was high on my list, but after playing Valient Hearts this last week, I've decided to wait a while before playing another game that's super dark and depressing.

Captcha: Null points indeed.

Next game I will buy is probably going to be Majoras Mask 3D for the 3DS. My favourite Zelda game of all time? Yes please and I have the special edition with the badge and the poster ordered from GAME's website. So looking forward to that.

The next game I play will be Alien: Isolation after I have finished slogging through The Evil Within.

I just bought Pushmo for the 3DS on a whim so sometimes I can't answer questions like these.
Honestly? Most likely Zelda Ocarina of Time for the 3DS to get ready for Majora's Mask at a later date.

Well there might be something on the Nintendo Eshop in a sale which I will buy that I am not aware of atm.
But the things I know I'll buy are StarFox, the next Zelda for WiiU, Splat00n and Xenoblade X (most likely forgetting something here).

I recently bought Danganronpa 1 for $20, which I consider is pretty expensive for a visual novel. But I want to see what all this fuss is about.

Well it WAS either going to be Bloodborne or The Witcher 3, but I've been on a...I don't even really know what to call it, a Japanese fantasy binge? Anyways I just finished Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood and I've been listening to Nier's soundtrack again. So now my plan is to get Drakengard 3, preorder The Witcher 3 since it's next cheapest, and unfortunately wait for Bloodborne. Might be for the best though since they'll most likely be releasing DLC for it. Don't really trust From Software anymore, they make really good games but they definitely aren't honest when it comes to their plans for post-release support.

There are currently no games coming out this year that I'm aware of that I'm even remotely interested in, so all I've got to look forward to is whatever game I decide to play from my backlog.

I'm going to pick up the Metroid Prime Trilogy when it comes to the Eshop, and I have a limited edition copy of Majora's Mask 3D on pre-order.

Other games I'm planning on getting this year are Zelda U, Star Fox U and Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Currently finishing off my Xmas backlog, just started Wasteland 2 so my "next" game will be This War of Mine.

If we're talking next game that's not out yet, most likely Resident Evil Revelations 2.

I want that damn PS4 remaster of Final Fantasy X and X-2. It doesn't have a release date yet, as far as I know, though. :(

Oh and I want to pick up Shadow of Mordor, too.

New releases? Not really looking forward to any that I can currently recall. I have little idea what's slated to release on my platforms of choice during 2015, actually. Most games I'd want right now are on the WiiU actually, but I don't own one. If I end up with some extra money I'll take a look in a second-hand store. Who knows.

The only one I'm looking to buy somewhere in the next couple months is This War Of Mine, whenever I'll have some of my backlog worked away.

I actually just bought it about a week ago and am very much enjoying it. I'm not into visual novels, fortunately this game is a bit more interactive. You wander around, talk to characters, look for clues about murders and participate in these courtroom scenes which can actually be quite intense. To be honest there's not a lot of gameplay to speak of but it gives you a sense of agency and involvement that you probably wouldn't get (or at least I don't get) from the average visual novel. Anyway, great characters, great story, great music, great atmosphere. Great game.

And on that note, my next purchase will no doubt be Danganronpa 2.

Grim Fandango HD. I was worried I would be unable to play this since I don't have a PS4 or Vita but I realized my laptop can play the game on minimum settings. While not the ideal way to play the game, I've been wanting to play this game for too damn long to not pick it up launch day.
