In my last house, I cut the floorboards in such a way that there is no obvious square hole, and then sunk a floor safe underneath that. I made sure it was level, replaced the floorboards, made sure they fit snugly, and put a file cabinet on top of it. I kept my weapons, money, and personal documents there.
