hmm... I'm tempted to go buy a Wii U on the spot to take advantage of that deal. I don't suppose it's possible to buy Wii U games digitally without actually owning a console is it?
Sorry, I forgot to mention that the Trilogy doesn't use the game pad, only the original Wii motion controller and nunchuck.

I would have edited my response to you but I believe that negates the new message notification.
That's cool, I already have those for use with the Dolphin emulator. Thanks for the info.

Oh, shoot, that's right, I still need to play Metroid Prime 3. I finished the first two, then started replaying them because I wanted to finish them again.

I already have the Wii version, though, so I don't think I'll buy them again. Nice to hear they're at an attractive price for people who might not have played them, though!

Got it the day it came out; I have all the games individually already, but eventually I'm going to end up mothballing my Wii at some point thus putting my GC Collection on mere display. Plus I want to check out what the Wiimote controls are like for 1 and 2 (verdict, this reminds me of why I'm pissed more devs never bothered using motion controls for shooters; they are far superior in every way to joysticks and possibly mouse and keyboard). So far, great deal for those who never got a chance to hop on as it's three very good to great games for a pretty low price. Though the download will take forever.

That's an insane price for even Metroid Prime 1 by itself.

I fairly recently played through 1 & 2 again, since they're both absolute classics - even if 2 falls apart entirely at the end with the Temple Key collecting slog.

The original Prime is damn near perfect though, and since it can be finished in only a few hours I tend to play it through at least once a year. Good times.

*Sigh*

First all those Star Wars games on GOG, now this. My wallet is going to hate me.

Seriously though, I would have paid $10 just for the first game. This is amazing.

EDIT: So after re-reading the thread this is a straight port of the Wii version, which means motion controls only. As someone who only played Prime for the GameCube, how does it compare? Or should I just stick with the GC version?

I jumped on the deal but I'm mildly disappointed that I have to use the Wiimote + Nunchuck on Prime and presumably Prime 2 (I understand that I'm stuck with it for Corruption). It's going to take a lot of getting used to but it was a really good deal so I'm not going to complain too much about the controls when I would be lucky to pay $10 for just one of those games on the trilogy.

I actually own the original steelbook copy of Prime Trilogy for the Wii, probably the rarest game I own with the possible exception of Conker's Bad Fur Day, so that, in addition to my lack of a WiiU, means this isn't something I personally need to bother with.
It's awesome that more people are getting a chance to enjoy the revamped Prime 1+2 though, I still consider the Wii ports to be the definitive versions of those games.

Honestly I think the motion controls are really good. It almost feels like aiming with a mouse on a PC, it's very percise.

I finally downloaded it last night. I was lucky enough to decide to buy the disc hot off the presses back in the day. Now I at least can seal the steelbook in argon to preserve it. Furthermore, I have to now avoid playing it, because a few minutes will turn into 100%ing all three games.

NINTENDO TAKE PAYPAL GODDAMMIT AAAAAARRRRGGHHHHHHGGGGGGHHHGHHGHGHGHHGHGHGHGGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh is Prime Trilogy out on Wii U, I had no idea, well aint this a pleasant suprise. ;)

But seriously, I wish they took paypal because now I have to head to a store and get a paid card or a code, so I hope I can get the sale price since I know some stores can sell you a code to redeem for the game. Its how I bought Earthbound.
Paypal would be great. I've bought PSN cards from Amazon. Xbox and Steam codes are also sold there, so why is Nintendo behind? (Well, because they're behind.)

Also, Why am I being charged tax at the eshop? The eshop is the only game market where I have to buy extra Nintendo funny money to cover Uncle Sam's share. That really sucks because I wanted to play Shantae: The Pirate's Curse and was less that $2 short. I would have ran into the same problem with MP Trilogy if I had not already had the leftovers from the tax on Shantae.

I did and I don't even own a wii u. You can buy the codes digitally. I feel like I just bought a game off steam I can't run. Really hoping they notice people bought it and make a new one.
Ever since the last Ninty Directo, I have been hoping that the sales of Trilogy sends a message to Nintendo to get Metroid going again, with good games or at the very least putting Zero Mission (best portable Metroid) on the eshop. I guess it's good someone is contributing when they have no way to play it. Thanks.

(People, If you have a passing interest the Metroid series or really want to see a new one and plan on getting a Wii U in the next year, grab a code the way kilenem did. If you have a Wii U, you are missing out if you haven't downloaded MP Trilogy yet.)

Yep, already bought it, had Corruption on the Wii but the two others I haven't played since my first playthrough, so will be nice redoing those since I remember absolutley nothing from them xD

Also for those here who have a WiiU and are interesting in discussing about games and such (about every new direct and releases etc) be sure to join the WiiU Online Multiplayer user group :D

bought it. Am I doing something wrong or is it not supposed to see my old Wii save file from MP3:C as well as the Gamecube save file on the same Wii for Prime. I 100%ed both ...

But since I never played Echoes I will still get my moneys worth out of it.

No, it shouldn't see the files from the Gamecube memory (how did it even get on the Wii?) or the files from Corruption. If you had a disc copy of Trilogy, it would probably see those files, though.

Bought it, even though I still have my Wii, GC controllers and all 3 games in their original hard copies. Looking forward to playing all 3 again with motion controls, but hopefully Nintendo won't release anything else I want to buy digitally so I don't need an external HD XD.

Was going to, but it only supports the nunchuck so no... It's those controls that turned me off.

The controls in Corruption are great.

And in 1/2 as long as you disable the "free aim while locked on" or whatever its called you should be fine.

No, I played Corruption and then the gamecube version of the first game on my Wii. I guess it saved to the gamecube mem stick. But that doesn't come over when you migrate the console I guess. And too bad that it doesn't read the corruption save file. I had the bobble head, and all the stickers and everything :)

I would, but I still have the original one. But, who knows? Maybe being rendered in 1080p will end up convincing me.

PS captcha: margin of error You're pushing it, captcha...

Unfortunately, this is still a Wii title, and is still rendered at maximum 480p.

So the only thing I would paying is the convenience of not having to enter into the Wii menu every time, and no need of the disc.
