I'm not into competitive multiplayer and the single player isn't worth the price so those games just aren't for me.

As for what's needed in modern FPSs... they need more clowns in pimp hats.

Not buying Battlefield 3 because I don't have a good gaming PC, and the Xbox 360 isn't exactly the best console to get it for.

However, will hopefully be getting Modern Warfare 3 for Christmas, even though I've also asked for AC: Revelations, Skyward Sword and Super Mario 3D Land.

i'm not buying either of 'em until the prices go down, which probably won't be until two years, or until my little brother buys it himself. if he wants it so bad, he can buy it with his own money, still don't know why he pre-ordered halo anniversary, especially if he doesn't have the money for it (or doesn't know the release date, god dammit. middle of october he asks me to take him to gamestop to pick it up, "i didn't get a phone call" i says, but i go anyway. i slapped him when we got back in the car, that'll teach his ***** ass to do his homework next time.)

Not getting them. Ill play them eventually but no.

The most "mainstream" (and it is) game I'm getting this year is Skyrim. Fuck realistic games I want magic.

Me.

I've had absolutely 0 interest in CoD since World at War, though I did succumb and actually play MW2, who's campaign was so bad it literally put me off all war shooters forever. Or at least I haven't been able to drag myself back to one yet.

I have no interest in Battlefield either, so really I just won't be getting them. I have way to much to play. In the past few weeks I've finished Dark Souls, El Shaddai, Batman: Arkham City and Asylum (for the second time cause it's just great). Now I'm playing Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, House of the Dead: Overkill, Splinter Cell Collection HD, GoldenEye Reloaded (a lot better then you'd expect). And in the next few weeks I'll be playing Sonic Generations, Uncharted 3, Assassins Creed: Revelations, Need For Speed: The Run, etc. etc.

I've got plenty to keep me busy. I have no desire to play through 3 hour shooter campaigns, or play online against a bunch of screaming kids and derogatory elitists.

Heard Battlefeild changed a little to much for my liking whole kife doesn't insa-kill and the dog tag change. As for Call of Duty it's been dead to me since World at war.

Im not buying either too but thats simply because I'm still enjoying Red Orchestra(Its very harsh but fair) in fact the only FPS I plan on getting for the foreseeable future is ARMA 3.

I won't be buying either simply because I don't dislike them but I'm not interested in them. Also I recently got Halo Reach so I'm too busy playing that while waiting for Zelda and Assassin's Creed Revelations.

I didn't buy it because of social pressure, hardly anyone I know plays it. I just bought because I've always been a battlefield fan and the multiplayer is really great in my opinion.

Nope. Don't knock it though, man, it's just not my thing.

How do you get socially pressured into buying a game? why am I reminded of those old videos they played in early high school saying "just say no, peer pressure's not a joke".
All your friends playing it, and either nagging you to buy it (when it's not your thing), or not. Which is almost worse because if you don't join in it brings up fears of ostracism from the group. It's not all that difficult to imagine. Societal pressure affects almost every decision we make.

I'm contemplating on buying BF3, but nothing is certain, but not until the game is patched up and the game installation issues are resolved as well. I most certainly don't see the latter happening.

Also, I've decided to take a stand against Activision and the Call of Duty series, since every Call of Duty title has been the same but with a slightly fresh coat of paint since 4 (and I stopped at World at War). Well, unless I get MW3 as a gift.

There are also several, more interesting games that are coming up and I'm chomping at the bit to buy and play them.

I won't be buying either, then again that's nothing new, I havn't bought any of the Battlefield games and the last COD game I played was Airborne!

I think they have become over hyped and it does annoy me that it's assumed that just becasue your a gamer you will be buying one (or both) of these titles.

No thank you. I'm tired of playing as ''Lieutenant Generic'' fighting some ''realistic'' war against Russians alongside ''Commander Faceless''. Multiplayer? pff I won't bother since the community for these games are awful.

I wouldn't mind seeing more shooters like Bulletstorm though...

Haven't bought any Battlefields since 1942, and any CoD since the original CoD. And don't plan on it, because FPSs in which you can't rocket jump are all atrocious, with absolutely no exceptions.

From what I've seen of BF3, I like it. It takes me back to the days when I used to play BF2 nonstop. I'm just still shaken up about the whole Origin deal, and I truly believe that Battlefield was meant to be played on the PC, so going with a console isn't really an option for me. That's really my only complaint, though.

EDIT: Changes in FPS games? Well, I'd like a more fantastic setting, for one. War shooters get old really fast. Second, more weapons. I'm a 90s shooter fanatic, so having 9 or so weapons is par for the course in some of my favorites. Also, about regenerating health, I think BF3 did it pretty well. Slow regen over time, with instant healing (is it instant?) coming from medkits.
