So, who enjoyed Demon's Souls?

I enjoyed it for a bit, then the brutality got the better of me.

Will not be buying Dark Souls.

I bought it and highly enjoyed it as well. It wasn't as hard as some people said it was and most of the bosses were easy. Only bosses I had trouble with were the Maneater(Nothing a blow or two from my Vanguard Axe didn't solve), False king (Fuck him and his level stealing. Prick.) and the motherfucking Flame Lurker. The rest were pretty easy to beat.

I swear to Thor, if they don't make up for the final boss in this time around, I'm stabbing the development team. The final boss in Demon's Souls was a fucking insult. From a game like Demon's souls, I was expecting a truly epic battle between God and Human, not Human vs a non-threatening blob.

Loved it. Granted, I played most of it online, so I did get the warnings for shit the game was going to throw at me.

I think I completed most of a New Game +, but I lost interest after I got all the cool weapons and armor.

Still, good times.

I never finished it, but I still liked it a lot!

I will definitely be buying Dark Souls when I can.

It's not that I don't like challenging games (I purchased the real Super Mario Bros. 2 on Wiiware, and beat it. Also beat Doom 2 on nightmare), but a game like that seems like it only exists to mock you. I think Yathzee said it best with his final summing up sentence on it. Oh yeah, and I went through WaW on veteran.

Oh, first I really hope I wasn't giving off an impression to that fact. I personally just reaaaaaally like punishing games in that vein because there's just an innate satisfaction of finally beating that one guy who's been laughing in your face for the last couple of hours. Hell, it's why I'm also a fan of the ol' Wizardry series and it's offspring of dungeon crawlers, as well as games that include Permadeath (ie: Way of the Samurai for PS2 & your garden variety Roguelike) and Ironman modes in general.

(For the record, I don't find myself some big, manly, amazing and super skilled gamer. No, quite the contrary to be honest. I just really like having to work to beat a game.)

Play the YS games on the PSP. 100x harder than Demons Soul. Really. Quote me on this.

I loved Demon's Souls. Minimalist storytelling, sparse gameworld, action rpg gameplay - all stuff I love, all stuff that basically no one does anymore.

Demon's Souls is a game you can never be too late for. It's timeless.

With the servers down you will lose that element of getting invaded or invading other peoples games, which was pretty damn cool, imo.

Personally Demon's souls is my RPG of the last decade.

So for me Dark Souls is an absolute no brainer.

Hell, I will be running the witcher 2 on insanity mode in anticipation/preparation for Dark souls

And as excited as I am, I am afraid from what ive read about it thus far, its not going to be quite as good as demon souls, because they are putting in certain things that being left out of demons souls made it better.
